The Nineteenth Triannual Congress of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from August 18-23, 2013. Copenhagen 2013 – 100 years on: Origins, Innovations and Controversies was the theme, honoring the psychological transformations experienced by C.G. Jung beginning in 1913, while also reflecting upon the evolving world and Jungian Community a century later.

Drawing worldwide acclaim from critics and audiences alike, programmes like The Killing, Borgen, The Bridge and The Legacy demonstrate widespread fascination with Danish style, aesthetics and culture as seen through television narratives. This book uses familiar, alongside lesser known, case studies of drama series to demonstrate how the particular features of Danish production - from work cultures, to storytelling techniques and trans-national cooperation - have enhanced contemporary Danish drama's appeal both at home and abroad. The era of globalisation has blurred national and international television cultures and promoted regular cross-fertilisation between film and television industries. Important questions have emerged from this context surrounding, for example, the 'Americanisation' of foreign television formats, the meaning and practice behind the term 'quality television', and the purpose and efficacy of public service broadcasting. Beyond the Bridge tackles these issues in relation to Danish television, by examining the so-called 'scaffolded production processes' behind the making of quality serials and their thought-provoking content. Drawing on popular motifs from these celebrated dramas such as foreign politics, organised crime, global warming, and the impact of multinational corporations, this timely book provides crucial insight into the Danish dramas at the forefront of sophisticated, forward-thinking, fictional television.

When I was only starting the therapeutic work with the Middle Eastern patients, I was looking for some kind of guidance to enable my genuine understanding of the Muslim patient cases. However, the material was scarce, haphazardly scattered, and mostly referring to the traditional therapies. That was not helpful and was even more confusing. With time, I managed to amass my own systemized data based on regular observations, practical cases, reflections, and exchanges with the colleagues. This material helped me to approach each case individually while respecting the cultural environment of a patient. Eventually, the book was published. This is the kind of book that I have always wanted to find, and I had to write it eventually by myself. The work contains the systematized knowledge on the evolution of scientific psychology in the Islamic world, which starts with the prophetic times and continues until now. The book reveals the signifiers, which form a structure of a Muslim psyche. It also exposes the recurrent mental health complaints of the Arab patients and investigates their unconscious roots. The book is intended, first of all, for professionals who are directly related to the Muslim mental health-care system. Secondly, it is for anyone who is considering undergoing a personal analysis. And certainly, the edition is for everyone interested in the subject. This book does not intend to bring the answers. It rather continues the dialogue regarding the necessity of creating the psychological-counseling culture in the Muslim world.

This book investigates how the emergence of the Arctic as a new geopolitical arena affects and reshapes the area known as the North Atlantic: Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and coastal Norway. The relationship between the center of the former Danish empire and its subordinates have rested on (varying degrees of) asymmetric power relations, that are intertwined with political as well as emotional bonds. With climate change a whole new reality is emerging in the Arctic and sub-Arctic areas. Power is moving north, and new connections and partnerships are being developed. As the North Atlantic countries share a history as being part of a Danish empire, some of the hierarchies and mindsets inherited from the past still affect the present. This calls for an in-depth understanding of the cultural history of the North Atlantic as well as current relations. What narratives make up the foundation for contemporary cooperation? How are historical relations and narratives being reinterpreted today? How do postcolonial relations affect decision-making concerning natural resources? How do North Atlantic communities envision the future? A team of historians, literary theorists, art historians, ethno - graphers and culture and communication scholars with profound insight into the histories, languages and cultures of the North Atlantic have collaborated on this study of the North Atlantic countries as an emerging new center in the North. Secondly, it assesses the policies used to manage coastal regions, and discusses the proposal for a new European directive to improve the management of coastal regions. Thirdly, it highlights the need for better information and better monitoring tools to help inform this management process
