This work explores how the Web might be used to deliver current, easily accessible health information to adults over the age of 60 and their caregivers. It considers how age-related changes in vision, cognitive function, and motor skills impact on the delivery of health information.

A mission of the Degradation Effects Program (DEP), formerly Joint Environmental Effects Program (JEEP), is to extrapolate estimates of lethality and munition effectiveness in DEP test environments to Southeast Asian environments. If these extrapolations are to be reliable it is imperative that the environmental conditions of the test areas be similar to those of Southeast Asia. Accordingly, objective comparisons must be made of DEP test environments and Southeast Asian environments. This report describes and compares some significant vegetation structural characteristics of two selected DEP sites in the Pina and Balboa forests in the Panama Canal Zone (CZ) and four selected sites in two forests and two rubber plantations in Thailand. The Semantic Web is a new area of research and development in the field of computer science that aims to make it easier for computers to process the huge amount of information on the web, and indeed other large databases, by enabling them not only to read, but also to understand the information. Based on successful courses taught by the authors, and liberally sprinkled with examples and exercises, this comprehensive textbook describes not only the theoretical issues underlying the Semantic Web, but also algorithms, optimisation ideas and implementation details. The book will therefore be valuable to practitioners as well as students, indeed to anyone who is interested in Internet technology, knowledge engineering or description logics. The Production Sites of Architecture examines the intimate link between material sites and meaning. It explores questions such as: how do spatial configurations produce meaning? What are alternative modes of knowledge production? How do these change our understanding of architectural knowledge? Featuring essays from an international range of scholars, the book accepts that everything about the production of architecture has social significance. It focuses on two areas: firstly, relationships of spatial configuration, form, order and classification; secondly, the interaction of architecture and these notions with other areas of knowledge, such as literature, inscriptions, interpretations, and theories of classification, ordering and invention. Moving beyond perspectives which divide architecture into either an aesthetic or practical art, the authors show how buildings are informed by intersections between site and content, space and idea, thought and materiality, architecture and imagination.
