The National Macro Economical Framework Of The Globus Model

This is a collection of independent works on the GLOBUS model. A first and basic application of the GLOBUS model was made through the computation of its standard run for the years 1970-2010. Stated in the simplest possible terms GLOBUS is a computer simulation model of many important macropolitical and macroeconomic relationships within and among 25 prominent contemporary nations plus a rest-of-world entity. It is designed and used to explore possible solutions to long-term global problems.

Finding an alternative to supplement military ways of resolving international conflicts has been taken up by many people skilled in various areas such as political science, economics, social studies, modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence and expert systems, military strategy and weaponry as well as private business and industry. The Workshop will therefore be of use as it looks at various control methods which would create a conciliatory social and political environment or climate for seeking and obtaining non-military solutions to international conflicts and to solutions to national conflicts which may lead to international conflicts.

This trilogy deals with an epistemology of economics, arguing for a radical overturning of conventional analysis and providing an alternative to political economy and social sciences, based not on positivism, but on a normative and programming paradigm. Volume III furthers and concludes work presented in Volume I and Volume II, and introduces a concrete and practical example of how to build a Planning Accounting Framework (PAF), as associated with Frisch's 'plan-frame' (explored in Volume II), to demonstrate the extent to which decisions and negotiations can be routed in the social sciences. The PAF is an instrument of the programming approach that can be used to verify the compatibility of decisions and their effects. The author builds on Frisch's classical PAF to maximise the phenomenology of economic systems, and assure a consistent and effective implementation of decision making.

This book is based on an international conference organised by the Applied Econo metric Association (AEA) on International Macroeconomic Modelling which was held in Brussels at the Commission of the European Communities in December 1983. Guvenen vi INTRODUCTION The main focus of this book is to present recent developments in the construction and use of international macroeconometric models. Four main aspects are selected: (i) analysis of trade linkages and exchange rate determination; (ii) modelling and simulating the international economy; (iii) international policy coordination; (iv) the use of international macroeconomic models.

This IFAC symposium considers the modelling, analysis and control of various economic and socio-economic systems. The volume is divided into three sections covering: economic theory; macroeconomic policymaking - national, sectoral and regional models; mathematical, algorithmical and computational methods of modelling, giving a clear and concise view of the use of computer systems in the world of economics.
