Mac Logan is a man with a very dark past. He was once an educated cop. He’s now an expendable P.I. called Jarrett. The story begins when he is assigned to investigate a series of muggings happening in town by his new boss and friend Derek Hawke. Logan starts the investigation to find out that there’s more to the case than meets the eye. He discovers that this mysterious caper is linked with a treasure hunt in the bad lands of Tikal, in Mexico. Logan goes to Mexico with Hawke and uncovers a smuggling operation there. He has a run in with a gang lord craving for supremacy; and finds out the truth behind a girl’s death. The man now called Jarrett also learns about his boss’s past. As Logan keeps sleuthing, he discovers the real culprits behind the brutal muggings. Logan journeys back to England where he has another encounter with an old enemy. A notorious crook called Quentin ‘the Rat’ Baker. So when the expendable PI uncovers the man’s secret he equally unveils the vicious and faceless criminal network responsible for the abrupt murders he sets out to investigate.

Meanwhile, the High King Jonas Yale formulates a plan to stop the advancing army from the north with the help of an unknown stranger, who embarks upon a mission toward the northern borders and the kingdom of Snowspire. Also hidden within the shadows away from the eyes of the warring factions, sinister plots are in play unbeknownst to all...

In Between Shadows and Noise Amber Jamilla Musser theorizes sensation as a Black feminist method for aesthetic interpretation and criticism that uses the knowledges held by the body to access the unrepresentable. Thinking through Blackness, empire, and colonialism, Musser examines artworks ranging from Ming Smith’s Flamingo Fandango, Jordan Peele’s Us, and Katherine Dunham’s Shango to Samita Sinha’s This ember state, Titus Kaphar’s A Pillow for Fragile Fictions, and Teresita Fernández’s Puerto Rico (Burned) 6. She engages with these works from an embodied situatedness to grapple with the questions and sensations of racialization and difference that the works produce. Throughout, Musser rethinks how we consider the relationships between race, representation, and politics by dwelling in those spaces and concepts that elude Western norms of representation, objectivity, and logic. In so doing, she explores ways of being and knowing that exceed overdetermined parameters while offering a blueprint for sensing, imagining, and living otherwise.
