The Campaign for Integrated Observations of Solar Flares (CINOF) was a period of extensive solar flare studies conducted 5-29 June 1972. Specific scientists were designated as CINOF coordinators to study selected events. This compilation contains seven reports: Five reports detailing solar phenomena associated with CINOF selected flares, one report detailing observations of a flare initiated shock wave propagating through the interplanetary medium, and one report on the solar particle and associated interplanetary measurements during this period.

This report is the result of an analysis of observations obtained during the Campaign for Integrated Observations of Solar Flares, (CINOF). The aim was to obtain a more complete set of optical, radio, X-ray, EUV, and particle observations of a normal solar flare than has been available from earlier, uncoordinated efforts. Flares observed in McMath Regions 11930 (at 2205 UT on June 23) and 11933 (at 1910 UT on June 24) are discussed, with emphasis on optical and X-ray observations.

During this period two discrete solar particle injections occurred, in addition to which significant modulations to the low energy solar particle background flux were present. This report contains fifteen individually authored papers presenting the x-ray, solar particle, and other related interplanetary and geophysical measurements obtained from 28 May - 30 June 1972. A final paper summarizes the particle measurements for the eleven particle enhancements identified during this period.

The Campaign for Integrated Observations of Solar Flares (CINOP) was a period of extensive solar flare studies conducted June 5-29, 1972. Examination of the preliminary solar particle data available for this period revealed two discrete solar particle injections in addition to an interesting modulation to the low energy solar particle background. In view of this it was decided that the solar particle and related interplanetary data should be examined for the entire CINOP period, with reference being made to selected CINOF flares whenever appropriate. A summary of the solar particle and related interplanetary measurements and an analysis and explanation of some of the phenomena are reported.
