This volume contains a selection of articles that were originally presented at the Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching International Conference and Exhibition (ALLT 2022), held at Zayed University, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in March 2022. The articles in this volume represent the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and research interests of the ALLT presenters. They cover a range of theoretical, empirical, and pedagogical practices with a strong emphasis on language teaching. While most of the papers focus on English language, the findings and lessons are applicable to the teaching of any language. This is an open access book. Based on technological developments in learning English, the English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Islam Malang plans to hold the fourth conference (The 4th ICON-ELT 2023) with the theme "The Future of ELT in the Digital Age: Issues and Innovations" on 30–31 August 2023. This conference will explore the challenges and opportunities of teaching English in the digital era. In addition, the sub-themes carry issues related to curriculum, inclusive education, linguistics, etc. This seminar will provide a forum for discussion and collaboration among researchers and English teachers and will allow them to share best practices, experiences, research findings, and innovations in teaching English. The implementation of this international seminar also collaborates with reputable national and international journals so that selected research articles presented at this international conference will be published in national journals accredited by Sinta 1, Sinta 2, and reputable International Journals.

This book provides a step-by-step journey to giving a successful academic conference presentation, taking readers through all of the potential steps along the way—from the initial idea and the abstract submission all the way up to the presentation itself. Drawing on the author's own experiences, the book highlights good and bad practices while explaining each introduced feature in a very accessible style. It provides tips on a wide range of issues such as writing up an abstract, choosing the right conference, negotiating group presentations, giving a poster presentation, what to include in a good presentation, conference proceedings and presenting at virtual or hybrid events. This book will be of particular interest to graduate students, early-career researchers and non-native speakers of English, as well as students and scholars who are interested in English for Academic Purposes, Applied Linguistics, Communication Studies and generally speaking, most of the Social Sciences. The three-volume set LNICST 465, 466 and 467 constitutes the proceedings of the Second EAI International Conference on Application of Big Data, Blockchain, and Internet of Things for Education Informatization, BigIoT-EDU 2022, held as virtual event, in July 29–31, 2022.
