El español es el segundo idioma más hablado en el mundo. Un número creciente de personas en los Estados Unidos y en otros países son conocedores de este idioma y además lo utilizan profesionalmente en el ámbito jurídico. No obstante, a muchos de ellos les gustaría mejorar su comprensión idiomática y jurídica del mismo. En la actualidad existen pocos recursos didácticos y profesionales a los que recurrir. El derecho en español: Terminología y habilidades jurídicas para un ejercicio legal exitoso es el único libro actualmente en el mercado que ofrece al mismo tiempo instrucción avanzada en español jurídico e información selecta sobre los marcos legales contemporáneos en los que este idioma se utiliza. Este libro monolingüe en español puede ser utilizado en el aula y también como herramienta de auto-aprendizaje por parte de universitarios y profesionales que posean un nivel intermedio de conocimiento del idioma. El libro contiene diez lecciones, cada una de ellas dedicada a un área clave del derecho: constitucional, contratos, actividades bancarias, penal, familia, inmigración, derechos humanos, litigios internacionales y arbitraje. Todas estas lecciones presentan un vocabulario escogido sobre el tema jurídico abordado en ellas, y después ofrecen una serie de ejercicios basados en documentos jurídicos reales procedentes de diversos países de habla hispana. El último capítulo es una guía para facilitar la comprensión de varias películas que contienen interesantes cuestiones legales y que pueden ser utilizadas para el análisis contextual de los temas abordados en las lecciones precedentes. A través de todos estos materiales de capacitación, los lectores aprenderán a utilizar el vocabulario español jurídico en su contexto operativo adecuado, y podrán entender las diferencias lingüísticas y conceptuales entre los distintos países de América Latina y España. Al mismo tiempo se familiarizarán con las disposiciones y los documentos más utilizados en la práctica jurídica en español. Finalmente, también podrán mejorar sus habilidades de escucha y de redacción jurídica.

Sobre el libro: La Revolución Bolivariana es un proceso en marcha y está creando colectivamente y democráticamente, paso a paso, golpe a golpe un nuevo modelo de estado. El estado bolivariano es auténtico se fundamenta en la historia, las ideas solidarias de Simón Bolívar y la prioridad de los derechos humanos básicos de "seguridad y subsistencia" de todos los venezolanos sin exclusiones. Es revolucionario primero porque incorpora participativamente a un sector mayoritario de la población -incluyendo a los pobres y a los militares-- que habían sido históricamente marginados y excluidos de la política, la economía y la sociedad. Tercero, porque el modelo bolivariano ofrece una respuesta democrática y solidaria al capitalismo salvaje que propone el neo-liberalismo en la actualidad. Venezuela hoy nos ofrece algo radicalmente diferente, es "la posibilidad optimista" de una democracia nueva, solidaria, soberana, socialista, moderna, no dogmática y por qué no, ecológica.

The paradigm of «Critical Theory of Patriarchy» explains this failure and discusses alternatives. By confronting the central civilizations in history, the egalitarian, life-oriented matriarchal one, and the hierarchical, nature and life dominating, hostile patriarchal one, we see that 5000 years of patriarchy have «replaced» matriarchies and nature itself by a «progressive» counter-world of «capital». This transformation characterizes «capitalist patriarchy» including «socialism». Its demise is due to the «alchemical» destruction of the world's resources, thought of, theologically legitimized and fetishized as «creation». This violence is not recognized. Elites have, instead, begun with a new «military alchemy», treating the whole Planet as weapon of mass destruction. Hence, the «Planetary Movement for Mother Earth».

Based on twenty case studies of universities worldwide, and on a survey administered to leaders in 101 universities, this open access book shows that, amidst the significant challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, universities found ways to engage with schools to support them in sustaining educational opportunity. In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach
