Bernice Schachter, M.A. is a graduate of Goddard College in Vermont, holding a Master of Arts in Sculpture and Art History. A post-graduate program at California State University was taken at Northridge in Museum Practices. She taught sculpture at The Village in Van Nuys, California, for 25 years and during 23 summers, directed stone carving workshops in Pietrasanta, Italy. In1996, she was awarded the Carducci Cultural Medal by the Mayor of Pietrasanta for her contribution of encouraging people from other countries to discover and enjoy Italian culture and art. Bernice's sculptures are displayed in art galleries in Los Angeles, the Museum in Pietrasanta, and in private collections.
