While this book is a history of the student activism of the sixties, its mode of analysis goes beyond the essential facts and events, probing underlying causes that are not peculiar to this particular unrest alone but are endemic to the rise and development of such movements in general.

Keisha Ceylon is a psychic. At least, that's what she tells people. She watches the news for stories of missing people, then waits a few days and goes to see the family. She tells them she’s had a vision and that she may know where their missing loved one is—for a price, of course. Keisha's latest mark is Wendell Garfield, whose wife disappeared a week ago. She's seen him on TV, pleading for his wife to come home, or for whoever took her to let her go. Keisha tells Wendell her vision of what might have happened. Unluckily for Keisha, her vision turns out to be alarmingly close to the truth. As she wades deeper into the mystery, Keisha inadvertently finds herself caught in a web of suspicion and violence that’s much more complicated than she first thought—and which may end up with her own disappearance… Also includes a preview of Linwood Barclay’s newest thriller, Trust Your Eyes

This is a strange book. Make no bones about it, it's weird. What can you do? I suppose you don't have to read it. But then what would be the point of all the words sitting there if you don't even bother to read them eh? I don't know, what are you like? Thinking of jumping ship already? Lightweight. Okay. So...this book is weird, it's strange but, hopefully, it's fun! Good! Let it be so! Okie dokie then. That'll do for a prologue won't it? I don't know, do I have to say anything else? What goes into a prologue then? It's sort of the stuff before the main stuff isn't it? Um, well, er, I can't be arsed! Oh yeah...um...no... I forgot. Oh well, without further ado... hold on, I've just thought of something, yeah... SO you lot are lucky in a way, because I've read this book loooooads of times and the words by this point have kind of lost all meaning - but for you they probably still have that "new book" feeling to them. Good for you!

In his previous book, Being Upright: Zen Meditation and the Bodhisattva Precepts, Reb Anderson Roshi described how we must become thoroughly grounded in conventional truth through the practice of compassion before we can receive the teachings of the ultimate truth. In The Third Turning of the Wheel, he introduces us to the next stage of our journey by invoking the wisdom of the Samdhinirmocana Sutra. According to Anderson, the main purpose behind this enigmatic sutra is to reconcile the apparent contradictions between the original teachings of the historical Buddha and the later teachings of Mahayana Buddhism. Anderson reflects on the great metaphysical questions proposed in the Samdhinirmocana Sutra—the nature of ultimate reality, the structure of human consciousness, the characteristics of phenomena, the stages of meditation, and the essential qualities of a buddha—with the clarity of a scholar and the insight of a practitioner.
