Who’s the boss? Awesome Dawson or his BIG emotions? When Dawson is told to turn off the TV and go to bed, he huffs and puffs and kicks the couch. He’s not ready for bed just yet. When Dawson is told to put his shoes on for school, he shouts and pouts. He’d rather stay home and build stuff with Dad. When Dawson sees Harvey, his best bud, he leaps high in the air and then comes crashing down on him. And when Dawson spills paint all over his most-favorite shirt, he panics and gasps for breath. He fears his shirt is ruined. Dawson experiences lots of strong emotions – anger, sadness, excitement, and worry. Each one feels gigantic. Can he, with the help of a caring teacher, find a way to harness those emotions in a safe, healthy way? Or will Dawson’s biggest feelings be the boss of him? Bestselling author Julia Cook and renowned play therapist Dr. Rebeca Chow team up in this colorful, empowering story about how to stop emotions from spinning out of control. A special page written by Dr. Chow, who is a clinical counselor and registered play therapist, offers practical strategies parents and educators can use to help children manage their big emotions. Download My Book of Feelings Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Even though you can't see them, we all have feelings. Some feelings are fluffy and make us feel good. Some are sharp and make us unhappy. Sometimes we have fluffy and sharp feelings at the same time! It's ok to have different types of feelings, but there are some things we can do to let the sharp feelings out when they get too big, or when we have too many. This picture book is ideal for children aged 5-10 to help them understand why they might experience different emotions, and what they can do to help them manage their emotions in a positive way. Written in simple language, this book will be an excellent tool for any child who finds it difficult to understand their emotions, particularly those with attachment difficulties, or a learning or developmental disability.

Download Dynamics of World History Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
In scope and in vision Christopher Dawson’s historiography ranks with the work of men like Spengler, Northrop, and Toynbee. Several major themes run through Dawson’s work, but perhaps his most unique contribution was his insistence on the importance of religion in shaping and sustaining civilizations. Religion, Dawson believed, is the great creative force in any culture, and the loss of a society’s historic religion therefore portends a process of social dissolution. For this reason, Dawson concluded that Western society must find a way to revitalize its spiritual life if it is to avoid irreversible decay. Progress, the real religion of modernity, is insufficient to sustain cultural health. And an ahistorical, secularized Christianity is an oxymoron, a pseudo-religion only nominally related to the historic religion of the West. Dawson maintained that the hope of the present age lay in the reconciliation of the religious tradition of Christianity with the intellectual tradition of humanism and the new knowledge about man and nature provided by modern science. Dynamics of World History shows that though such a task may be difficult, it is not impossible.

Download Freddie & Me Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
High Fidelity meets Wayne's World in this utterly charming graphic memoir about a young man's life-long obsession with the rock band Queen. All of us have had that one band with which we identify, the band that was always there for us during good times and bad. For Mike Dawson it's always been Queen and Freddie Mercury. Not unlike "Bohemian Rhapsody," Freddie & Me takes readers on a rock-opera-like journey—from Mike's childhood in the UK, through high school in New Jersey, and into the nineties, when grunge ruled the day and Queen was terminally uncool. As Mike works to navigate the trials and tribulations that accompany the road to adulthood (with Queen behind him every step of the way), he must grapple with the fears we all find ourselves facing: committing to one person for the rest of our lives, pursuing our dream job, coming to terms with our familial responsibilities, and even facing our own mortality. With humor, sensitivity, and some wonderfully imagined appearances by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, George Michael, and Andrew Ridgeley (among others), Freddie & Me is a touching reminder of how our favorite music is the soundtrack for so many of our most important memories and moments. And how one note can bring them all flooding back.
