Uncharted Seas

In the face of an Atlantic hurricane, a boatload of mis-matched crew and passengers find themselves aboard a life-boat and must pit their strength against the rigours of the open sea. Tension mounts both inside and outside the rescue vessel - the desirable Synolda is forced into the arms of a man who knows her past and uses that knowledge. A man with hatred in his eyes – a hatred that can only be satisfied with blood. There is mutiny and murder before the unrelenting Sargasso weed entombs them all. But suddenly land is sighted – land unmarked on the chart, concealing further, unimaginable horrors.

Fuller Albright, author of Uncharted Seas, was perhaps this country's preeminent clinician during the decades of 1930's through the 1950's. The field of medicine has a tradition of naming diseases after the first person to discover & report the disorder. At least three diseases are named after this distinguished medical scholar because of his uncanny ability to elucidate the mechanism of hormone-related enigma's. Dr. Albright wrote as well as he solved medical puzzles. UNCHARTED SEAS is a previously unpublished book written by Albright in collaboration with Read Ellsworth. The original typescript of this book was included in the papers of Albright that were donated to the Countway Library in Boston by his family at the time of his death in 1969. The book deals with the unraveling of a previously mysterious bone disease. This book is aimed at the literate non-medical reader & is filled with fascinating commentaries surrounding the medical & political environment prior to World War II. The book has been extensively edited by Dr. Lynn Loriaux. In addition, an introduction & afterword have been provided to place the book into historical context. UNCHARTED SEAS should appeal to all individuals interested in biomedical research.
