I've been a baseball fan, and a Chicago Cubs fan, for over 20 years. In that time, I've seen some thrilling wins, many crushing defeats, and lots of memorable moments. I've seen just about everything - except a championship. For all the grief I take for being a fan of America's most notorious losing sports team, the one thing that keeps me going is the belief that someday, I'll witness the final out that clinches that championship that has alluded the Cubs for over 100 years. 2015 wasn't supposed to be the year it happened. Sure, there were lots of great story lines as the season began. But most prognosticators thought they were at least a year away from being a serious contender. Instead, they took the fans on a wild ride that fell just short of a pennant. The season ended just like every other one I've witnessed - without a championship.
