This 1965 second edition revises the 1958 edition, adding scores of additional titles to the bibliography and making a number of changes in light of new knowledge since the first edition. The Concise Bibliography begins with a general introduction and the rest of the book is divided into six time periods.

More than fifty specialists have contributed to this new edition of volume 2 of The Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature.
