NEW RELEASE 2019 You are thinking about being an Uber driver and/or Lyft driver but you still have questions... let's cut right to the chase. This book, The Business of Rideshare Driving - Earn More, Stress Less doesn't waste any time repeating content found on the Uber and Lyft websites... all of the book's content is dedicated to helping you have a successful rideshare driving business; earning maximum income; with no stress. There are other rideshare driving books on Amazon. Why buy this book? For that matter why buy a book at all? Why not just go to the Uber/Lyft website, sign up, qualify, then go out and drive? From the author: "If rideshare driving is such a great 'gig' then why do 50% of new drivers quit less than 30 days after their first trip as a driver? At the end of a year over 90% have stopped being a rideshare driver!" The Business of Rideshare Driving - Earn More, Stress Less is well-researched and professionally-written thanks in part to the author's 15+ years' experience in corporate America as a data analyst; technical writer; training content developer; as well as a technical training presenter and training coach. www.linkedin.com/in/wyleepost The content of "The Business of Rideshare Driving - Earn More, Stress Less" is drawn from the author's real-world experiences driving for Uber and Lyft in Denver, Colorado since April of 2016 and completing over 11,000 trips as a driver. Why buy this book? There are other books on Amazon, some claiming to tell you everything you need to know about driving for Uber and Lyft. With any non-fiction book the background and experience of the author is the most important factor to consider. Rideshare drivers with a lot of experience are extremely proud of their lifetime trip number. If the author of a book is not telling you their number of lifetime trips, then the number is probably not impressive? Would you buy a book about how to be an airplane pilot from someone who just got their license to fly solo? Again, why buy this book rather than one of the other rideshare driving books on Amazon? Good technical writing is difficult. Presenting technical topics in an understandable and easy-to-digest format takes years of practice in a professional environment. Without experience and background in technical writing and training content development it's unlikely an author's book is going to deliver hard-hitting content. Another important factor to consider is the author's life experience... It might sound impressive that an author use to be an engineer or some other profession which suggests an intelligent person... but think about it... how does being an engineer or being single-focused on any unrelated profession prepare an author for writing good content on a different subject... especially if the author has very little real-world experience on the new subject? This book: The Business of Rideshare Driving - Earn More, Stress Less And the companion book: The Business of Rideshare Driving - Calculating (Your) Profits Provide the previously missing rideshare driver "Employee Success Manuals" and they are laser-focused on helping new and existing drivers realize the claim of rideshare driving being "The Ultimate Side Gig." SIMPLY THE BEST AVAILABLE CONTENT FOR SUCCEEDING AT BEING AN UBER DRIVER AND LYFT DRIVER

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Being an Uber driver isn’t as easy as it seems. It takes a lot of hard work and skills to be an Uber driver, and only a few make it past the difficulties. #2 As a rideshare driver, you’re a 1099 independent contractor, which means you’ll be responsible for all your expenses and file a Schedule C at tax time. However, this shouldn't scare you since I'll help you stay ahead of the game when it comes to taxes and reporting. #3 Rideshare drivers put a lot of miles on their cars. A full-time driver can easily do a thousand miles a week or more, and if you subtract the cost of gas from your earnings, you’ll see that your net earnings can be significantly lower than the $459. 18 shown in the table. #4 The ultimate flexibility, Uber allows you to make money on a whim. However, most people don't need this flexibility. You'll want to work enough to get in a rhythm and start earning decent money.

Silicon Valley technology is transforming the way we work, and Uber is leading the charge. An American startup that promised to deliver entrepreneurship for the masses through its technology, Uber instead built a new template for employment using algorithms and Internet platforms. Upending our understanding of work in the digital age, Uberland paints a future where any of us might be managed by a faceless boss. The neutral language of technology masks the powerful influence algorithms have across the New Economy. Uberland chronicles the stories of drivers in more than twenty-five cities in the United States and Canada over four years, shedding light on their working conditions and providing a window into how they feel behind the wheel. The book also explores Uber’s outsized influence around the world: the billion-dollar company is now influencing everything from debates about sexual harassment and transportation regulations to racial equality campaigns and labor rights initiatives. Based on award-winning technology ethnographer Alex Rosenblat’s firsthand experience of riding over 5,000 miles with Uber drivers, daily visits to online forums, and face-to-face discussions with senior Uber employees, Uberland goes beyond the headlines to reveal the complicated politics of popular technologies that are manipulating both workers and consumers.

"The following is an account of my continued life as an Uber and Lyft driver in the Twin Cities metro area, starting December of 2015 and stretching all the way through 2018. Rideshare services vary considerably from market to market, and at no point throughout this book did my market offer the 'pool' service. Finally, it should be noted this book is a sequel to Ubered : my life as a rideshare driver. If you have not read my first installment, I would strongly urge you to stop right here and read that first." --

Exploring professional passenger driving and the gig economy through feminist theories of labor Are taxi drivers in today’s era of the ride-hail app performing care work akin to domestic and household labor? So argue the authors of Spent behind the Wheel. Bringing together sociological and legal perspectives with feminist theoretical insights, Julietta Hua and Kasturi Ray examine the case study of contemporary professional passenger driving in the United States. On the one hand, they show, the rise of the gig economy has brought new attention to the industry of professional passenger driving. On the other hand, the vulnerabilities that professional drivers experience remain hidden. Drawing on interviews with drivers, labor organizers, and members of licensing commissions, as well as case law and other published resources, Hua and Ray argue that working for ride-hail companies like Uber and Lyft shares similarities with driving for taxi companies in the impact on driver lives. Lyft and Uber sell the idea of industry disruption, but in fact they entrench long-standing modes of extracting the reproductive labor of their drivers for the benefit of consumer lives. Reproductive labor—conventionally understood as feminized labor—is extracted, but masked, behind the masculinized, racialized bodies of drivers. Professional driving is thus best understood alongside domestic and other gendered service work as reproductive labors devalued and often demonetized to benefit the national economy. Spent behind the Wheel is a must for readers interested in critical studies of technological change and the gig economy, showing how drivers’ capacities are drained for the benefit of riders, corporations, and the maintenance of the racial state.

A Darkly Comedic Coming of (Middle) Age Adventure - Why would a financially-comfortable, fifty-something father of two-with a Mercedes-drive Uber late at night on the toughest streets of Chicago? Pat White (pseudonym), a financial advisor and business strategist, decided to go undercover to research how the disruptive technology of ridesharing affects commerce. Soon his business study warped into a study of humanity . . . and himself. This reserved Baby Boomer first had to face his fear of picking up strangers in his own car and driving them to unknown locations. Most were over-privileged, over-served Millennials in route to their next adrenaline rush or wherever they were crashing for the night. Some treated him like he was invisible--making out, arguing, discussing sex and drugs, and lying to lovers on the phone about their whereabouts as if no one else were in the car. Others wished him to partake in their partying or craved his counsel on the most intimate details of their lives. Still others were just looking to pick a fight. Rarer were the tired and the timid: those returning to family after working long hours with hopes of a brighter tomorrow, those fleeing abuse, and those just fleeing a thunderstorm. This summer experiment took White down roads he never imagined he would travel. Soon he found himself embracing danger, longing for the thrill of voyeuristic glimpses into private lives made public, and facing the depths of his shadow personality. Come along for the bumpy ride as this sharp-tongued observer shares the always wild, sometimes dark, often humorous, and surprisingly touching side of Chicago nightlife in the smart-phone generation. Hop into the Back of Patrick's Silver Benz and Buckle Up!
