Some eighty of them take part every week under a capable director, and they show decided interest and are making good progress. It is both an education and an amusement, furnishing as well relaxation from their daily routine. We have given them a movie machine of sufficient size to show the best pictures, and the entertainments are greatly enjoyed, and add to the pleasure of the life of the Home. The scientific investigation and research which is done in connection 'with the Sprague Foundation and through our different medical and surgical services shows' a steady progress. He became a member of the Medical Staff of the Presbyterian Hospital at its organization, in 1883, and served as dermatologist continuously to the date of his death. We, his colleagues, would re'cord our sense of irreparable loss in his death, and pay a tribute to his memory by recognizing that in every relation of life which he sustained, whether as a member of our medical board, as medical teacher, as contributor to medical science and literature, as member of many learned societies, as practitioner of medicine, as citizen, as volunteer in patriotic service to his country, he brought honor and inspiration. With his qualities of mind and heart, his personal demeanor, his purity of life, his enthusiastic devotion to duty, his scholarly attainments, and, withal, his rare natural endowments, he met and fulfilled his obligations of the home, the state, and his chosen profession in eminent measure.
