Beehler started working at a house for challenged children and adults. She loved to work with people who were always so happy to see her and work with her. She took them on vacations and outings. Beehler started her own program called Challenge Wings. After telling made up children's stories to many different people, Beehler's granddaughter said, "Grandma, why don't you write a book?" This gave Beehler the idea to write a book about the things that have been so important to her.
