School Home Links Reading Kit Third Grade Activities

A collection of learning activities for families with children in 3rd grade. These activities will teach the children such age-appropriate skills as: know the parts of a book & their functions; read longer fiction & chapter books; read & comprehend books; correctly use plural nouns & verb forms; expand language repertoire; infer word meanings from roots, prefixes, & suffixes; read aloud or silently with fluency; correctly spell previously studied words; place words in alphabetical order; identify words causing comprehension difficulties; incorporate new words; comprehend spoken directions; edit & revise own writing; & review work for spelling, mechanics, & presentation.
