Recent Advances In Information And Communication Technology

This book gathers the proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Computing and Information Technology (IC2IT 2020), held on May 14th–15th, 2020, at Dusit Thani Pattaya, Thailand. The topics covered include big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, speech recognition, image and video processing, and deep learning. In turn, the topics represent major research and engineering directions for autonomous driving, language assistants, automatic translation, and answering systems. Lastly, they are responses to major economic changes around the world, which are increasingly shaped by the need for enhanced globalization and worldwide cooperation, and by emerging global problems.

Computer and Information Technology (CIT) are now involved in governmental, industrial, and business domains more than ever. Thus, it is important for CIT personnel to continue academic research to improve technology and its adoption to modern applications. The up-to-date research and technologies must be distributed to researchers and CIT community continuously to aid future development. The 10th International Conference on Computing and Information Technology (IC 2 IT2014) organized by King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and partners provides an exchange of the state of the art and future developments in the two key areas of this process: Computer Networking and Data Mining. Behind the background of the foundation of ASEAN, it becomes clear that efficient languages, business principles and communication methods need to be adapted, unified and especially optimized to gain a maximum benefit to the users and customers of future IT systems.

This proceedings book presents recent research work and results in the area of communication and information technologies. The chapters of this book contain the main, well-selected and reviewed contributions of scientists who met at the 12th International Conference on Computing and Information Technology (IC2IT) held during 7th - 8th July 2016 in Khon Kaen, Thailand The book is divided into three parts: “User Centric Data Mining and Text Processing”, “Data Mining Algoritms and their Applications” and “Optimization of Complex Networks”.

For 60 years the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) has been advancing research in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This book looks into both past experiences and future perspectives using the core of IFIP's competence, its Technical Committees (TCs) and Working Groups (WGs). Soon after IFIP was founded, it established TCs and related WGs to foster the exchange and development of the scientific and technical aspects of information processing. IFIP TCs are as diverse as the different aspects of information processing, but they share the following aims: To establish and maintain liaison with national and international organizations with allied interests and to foster cooperative action, collaborative research, and information exchange. To identify subjects and priorities for research, to stimulate theoretical work on fundamental issues, and to foster fundamental research which will underpin future development. To provide a forum for professionals with a view to promoting the study, collection, exchange, and dissemination of ideas, information, and research findings and thereby to promote the state of the art. To seek and use the most effective ways of disseminating information about IFIP’s work including the organization of conferences, workshops and symposia and the timely production of relevant publications. To have special regard for the needs of developing countries and to seek practicable ways of working with them. To encourage communication and to promote interaction between users, practitioners, and researchers. To foster interdisciplinary work and – in particular – to collaborate with other Technical Committees and Working Groups. The 17 contributions in this book describe the scientific, technical, and further work in TCs and WGs and in many cases also assess the future consequences of the work’s results. These contributions explore the developments of IFIP and the ICT profession now and over the next 60 years. The contributions are arranged per TC and conclude with the chapter on the IFIP code of ethics and conduct.

This book includes selected contributions related to big data and data networking, presented at the 13th International Conference on Computing and Information Technology (IC2IT), which was held at the Arnoma Grand Hotel Bangkok, Thailand, July 6–7, 2017. The aim of the conference was to present emerging algorithms, methods and technologies with a high degree of originality, novelty and innovation addressing the conference theme `Mastering Data and Networking’. Section 1 and 2 discuss various aspects of data mining and corresponding applications. Section 3 focuses on speed and overhead networking optimisation problems, as well as energy problems of autonomous systems, which are becoming increasingly important. The key to addressing these problems is properly determining critical parameters. Section 4 sheds light on natural language processing, including extraction of trends and popularity and recognition of emotions as well as classic topics such as detection and classification.

This book presents 94 papers from the 2nd International Conference of Reliable Information and Communication Technology 2017 (IRICT 2017), held in Johor, Malaysia, on April 23–24, 2017. Focusing on the latest ICT innovations for data engineering, the book presents several hot research topics, including advances in big data analysis techniques and applications; mobile networks; applications and usability; reliable communication systems; advances in computer vision, artificial intelligence and soft computing; reliable health informatics and cloud computing environments, e-learning acceptance models, recent trends in knowledge management and software engineering; security issues in the cyber world; as well as society and information technology.

Mobile phones are close to ubiquitous in developing countries; Internet and broadband access are becoming commonplace. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) thus represent the fastest, broadest and deepest technical change experienced in international development. They now affect every development sector – supporting the work of hundreds of millions of farmers and micro-entrepreneurs; creating millions of ICT-based jobs; assisting healthcare workers and teachers; facilitating political change; impacting climate change; but also linked with digital inequalities and harms – with the pace of change continuously accelerating. Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) provides the first dedicated textbook to examine and explain these emerging phenomena. It will help students, practitioners, researchers and other readers understand the place of ICTs within development; the ICT-enabled changes already underway; and the key issues and interventions that engage ICT4D practice and strategy. This book contains the research contributions presented at the 14th International Conference on Computing and Information Technology (IC2IT 2018) organised by King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and its partners, and held in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai in July 2018. Traditionally, IC2IT 2018 provides a forum for exchange on the state of the art and on expected future developments in its field. Correspondingly, this book contains chapters on topics in data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, image processing, networks and security, software engineering and information technology. With them, the editors want to foster inspiring discussions among colleagues, not only during the conference. It is also intended to contribute to a deeper understanding of the underlying problems as needed to solve them in complex environments and, beneficial for this purpose, to encourage interdisciplinary cooperation.
