Many Christian pundits agree, the world is at a historic precipice and the cusp of an unprecedented move of the Holy Spirit. It is Gods desire that, no church, Christian fellowship, group, team, ministry or association be left behind. However, both leaders and followers within Christianity tend to overlook a crucial factor that could undermine and upend the progress of their organizations in a fundamental way. This is the depth of trustworthiness reposed within those who work, serve, and worship alongside them, as they hunger and pursue the upcoming spiritual revival. More than three decades of working within church and leadership training outfits has taught the author, that measuring the fidelity within spiritual workers is as crucial as pursuing the vision of the organization itself. The dysfunction of unfaithfulness or infidelity is not just a marital problem, but is generally a corporate problem, affecting the attitudes of individuals towards: group goals, aspirations, dreams, visions and values. The potential for unfaithfulness hides within every corporate organization. Sometimes in the most unlikely places, such as churches, it can rear its ugly head. Confronting this issue is the responsibility of church group leaders, senior pastors, church workers and church members, who must expunge all forms of infidelity from their midst if their organizations are to survive, thrive and achieve lasting revival. Through using specific biblical principles, The Fidelity Factor tackles the subject of corporate church fidelity from a variety of angles, empowering the reader to identify this problem and thus contribute to building stronger organizations: those that can participate in the upcoming move of God.

The 18 essays by members of the Canadian Society for Biblical Studies published in this volume showcase the work of leading authorities on ancient Israelite and Jewish historiography as it intersects with the phenomenon of prophecy. A deep divide exists between the traditions of historiography and prophecy in the academic study of the Hebrew Bible, and the concern of the contributors is to close that gap, to expose the close relationship between these two traditions in the literature of the Hebrew Bible. The first section of the book explores prophecy and prophets in ancient Israelite and Jewish historiographic books (Torah, Deuteronomistic History, Chronicles, Ezra–Nehemiah, Second Temple Jewish historiography). The second section surveys historiography in Israelite and Jewish prophetic books (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Book of the Twelve, Daniel, 1 Enoch). The contributors engage diverse methodological perspectives in these studies, the goal first being to show the role that the prophets played within the great Hebrew historiographic works and, second, to demonstrate the role that historiography plays within the great Hebrew prophetic works; this makes it clear that the influence is bidirectional. Prophets, Prophecy, and Ancient Israelite Historiography will be of value for advanced students and scholars working on historiographic and prophetic materials in the ancient Israelite and Jewish traditions, featuring the best of research and analysis and interacting with many major ancient literary traditions of historiography and prophecy.

In this fresh and expansive work, Ellen Davis offers a comprehensive interpretation of the prophetic role and word in the Christian scriptures. Davis carefully outlines five essential features of the prophetic role and then systematically examines seven representations of prophets and prophecies. Thoroughly theological, Davis's volume provides both instruction and insight for understanding prophecy in Christian tradition and discipleship. This volume concludes with a rich discussion of practical matters, including the relationship between Christian discipleship and prophetic interpretation and the role of biblical prophecy in interfaith contexts.

What happens when prophets are wrong? In 2020, many Christians claiming to be prophets said God told them that Donald Trump would be re-elected as president. Over thirty years before that, one the famous Kansas City Prophets, Paul Cain, prophesied that there would be a revival in London in 1990, which never came to pass. These examples make us wonder: What happens when prophets get it wrong? Are there consequences for misleading God's people? What would a genuine prophet look like today? And how can you tell a false prophet from a genuine one? In recent years, misjudgments among Charismatic Christians claiming to speak for God as well as moral failures within Evangelicalism have resulted in a crisis of belief. In Prophetic Integrity, bestselling author and speaker, R.T. Kendall gives a warning to those speaking in God's name and offers a way forward in trusting God despite the failures of the church. To unpack this difficult topic, Kendall, a self-described "Reformed charismatic," relates accounts of visions and supernatural experiences and shares stories and thoughts about Christian leaders that he knew personally, such as Paul Cain and Ravi Zacharias. He gives examples of good and bad prophecies and teaches a biblical and theologically-sound understanding of prophetic gifting and use. Prophetic Integrity is a book for those who believe that God still speaks today but have serious questions about those within the church that identify as prophets. It's a call for honesty, vulnerability, and repentance; and it speaks to Christians of many different traditions, including Charismatic and Evangelical. Discerning Christians of many different traditions can and must take both God's word and the gift of prophecy seriously and recognize how humans can abuse such gifts or use them to advance God's Kingdom.
