The ways and means by which eggs or poultry can be grown at a profit are discussed in great detail. So many questions are constantly asked about the various breeds and also concerning diseases and their treatment, that these topics have been quite fully considered. The turkey department has been made as complete as possible on account of the increasing interest in that branch of poultry keeping. Incubators, care of chicks, feeding and care for eggs, or for meat, building coops and houses, caponizing, marketing, warfare against pests, raising waterfowl and ornamental poultry, are described at length. The reference matter and tables are a special feature of the, book. The present volume is nearly one-third larger than any previous edition. Experience of breeders and poultry farmers has been drawn upon freely, resulting in that breadth of view which can be obtained only by comparison of successful methods in actual practice.
