The papers are published in the chronological order of presentation at the conference and many contain discussions of the formal presentation.

This volume contains the proceedings of the second in a series of annual topical conferences sponsored by Argonne National Laboratory and the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission on various specific aspects of fast reactor science and technology. The first conference, which was held in October 1963, was entitled "Breeding, Economics, and Safety in large Fast Power Reactors." The proceedings of that conference were issued as ANL-6702. Nor conference was held in 1964 because the Third International Geneva Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy had been scheduled for that year. In October 1959, a related conference entitled "The Physics of Breeding" was held at Argonne. The proceedings of that conference was issued as ANL-6122.

Advanced Reactors: Physics, Design and Economics contains the proceedings of the International Conference held at Atlanta, Georgia on September 8-11, 1974. Organized according to the sessions of the conference, this book first describes the national programs for the development of advanced reactors. Subsequent sessions centers on economics of advanced reactors; developments in reactor theory; advanced reactor experiments and analysis; cross section data and calculational methods. The last three sessions focus on sensitivity analysis of integral reactor parameters; problems in the design of advanced reactors; and the design and operational experience for advanced reactors.

Fast Breeder Reactors presents the proceedings of the London Conference on Fast Breeder Reactors organized by the British Nuclear Energy Society on May 17-19, 1966. The book covers topics about the place of the fast breeder reactor in the energy programs (including fuel cycles), operating experience with fast reactors; the design of fast reactor prototypes and power reactors (including advanced concepts with coolants other than sodium); fast reactor physics; and fuel technology. The text also describes topics about sodium technology and engineering of fast reactors and provides definitions of fast reactor breeding and inventory. Civil engineers will find the book useful.
