Like the preceding volumes in this series, the goal of this new Pet Owner Educational Atlas – dedicated to neurology in dogs and cats – is to assist veterinary surgeons in providing pet owners with appropriate explanations regarding their pet’s condition or treatment. The information provided will also help practicing veterinary surgeons to consolidate their knowledge in this particular specialty.

Each of the charts that make up this book has been thought to help veterinary surgeons transmit information in different fields and specialties of feline medicine to their clients, and includes small explanatory texts and tables that summarise the main con-cepts of interest. The clarity and precision of the drawings, designed to facilitate and reduce the time dedicated to giving explanations to owners, and the easy handling of the atlas thanks to the binding and finish chosen, turn it into another clinical tool.

This illustrated work has the aim to assist the veterinary surgeon with his/her communication with the pet owner. Following the last book spirit dedicated to the surgery, in this atlas the drawings about internal and external parasites of dogs and cats will make easier the explanations of the veterinary surgeon to his/her customers, as well as the control, prevention and treatment plans that the veterinary surgeon need to set up in some cases. In keeping with the previous volume about surgery, the illustrations of this atlas dedicated to dermatology will simplify the explanations given by vets to their clients about the anatomical, physiological and pathological characteristics of skin, as well as those about the diagnostic tests, treatments and surgical techniques that may need to be carried out in some cases. Every illustration was designed to help in the different clinical aspects of the dermatology consultation, from the anatomical and physiological considerations about the skin and its annexes, to the graphic description of infectious, inflammatory, endocrine, allergic or tumoral disease processes which cause dermatological conditions. This new atlas focuses on how parasitic diseases can be diagnosed, treated and prevented, with a special emphasis on those aspects on which pet owners can have an influence. It includes a classification of parasitic diseases according the organ systems they affect, a part on parasites in exotic animals and a description of the most important zoonoses transmitted by dogs and cats.
