The Hatch Pond Dam consists of an earth embankment with a maximum height of 31 feet, a top width of 12 feet, and an overall length of 340 feet, including a 41.5 foot long overflow spillway located at the right end of the dam. The outlet works located near the center of the dam consist of a 12-inch cast iron low level outlet or blowoff pipe through the embankment. The dam impounds Hatch Pond which is used for recreational purposes. Based on the visual inspection, the dam is judged to be in fair condition. Features that could affect the future integrity of the dam are downstream seepage, trees on the slopes and downstream toe area, the condition of the discharge channels, inadequate spillway capacity, and the downstream location of the low level outlet or blowoff gate. The spillway capacity with the water level at the top of the dam is 780 cfs or 41 percent of the test flood routed outflow.
