Kinky Friedman, the poet of country music, the misogynist of mystery, the writer, musician and all-rounder, is the author of this collection of tales of murder, mystery and general screwing around.

The woman, having asked the Kinkster to watch her luggage while she visits the can, has taken a powder and somehow vanished. Mystery Woman does turn up again, but not before Kinky has claimed the interest of an array of suits from the State Department, been party to a thwarted kidnap attempt by Arab terrorists, and found a dead Israeli agent parked on the toilet of his downtown Manhattan loft. Employing the able-bodied assistance of his usual sidekicks, the Village Irregulars, Kinky eventually gets to the bottom of all the comings and goings of the many visitors to his loft, including two late-night visits by the mysterious and suddenly affectionate woman from the plane and one not-so-late-night visit by her angry brother.

Someone is killing the Texas Jewboys, the former members of the Kinkster's rowdy country-western band. To protect the remaining members of the band, a reunion tour is organized. But it soon becomes apparent that the killer is almost certainly a former Texas Jewboy himself. It's an unpleasant task Kinky must undertake to unravel this incestuous mess, and he does it with his customary panache.

Exotic locals, naked women, and smelly cigars combine for adventure, thrills and side splitting laughs in the latest caper from New York's favorite private eye: Kinky Friedman. The Kinkster is up to his trademark antics as he and his cohorts search for their missing friend McGovern, who fled to the scenic Hawaiian Islands to work on a book.

The Kinkster is at his best in a third bumper volume collecting the 7th, 8th and 9th of his outrageously good cult detective novels together. In Armadillos and Old Lace the Kinkster decides to take a break from big-city murder and mayhem but has scarcely arrived in Texas before his friend, Judge Knox, turns up at his ranch wanting to talk about four dead little old ladies. God Bless John Wayne sees Kinky once again ensconced in his Lower Manhattan loft, having taken on the deceptively tame assignment of helping his pal Ratso find his true birth mother. In The Love Song of J. Edgar Hoover the Kinkster is hired to find a missing husband, but soon figures out that he may be in a lot more trouble than he's bargained for - the FBI is after him!Even More Kinky Friedman allows readers once again to benefit from a triple dose of Kinky's irreverent wit and hilarious wisdom.

A blow on the head sends PI Kinky Friedman back in time to his early days as a private eye. One of his first cases involved his girlfriend, Judy, claiming to have seen her old lover, Tom, alive. Officially, he was killed during the Vietnam War and was buried with full military honors.

How many lesbians can dance on the head of a pin? Kinky Friedman sure as hell doesn't know, but he's learning exactly how many it takes to send the geriatric plaster tumbling from the ceiling of his downtown New York loft. The culprit is one Winnie Katz, man-hating proprietress of a lesbian dance troupe that thunders daily through his waking dreams. And when Winnie won't even give it enough of a rest to let Kinky patch the hole, our hero, lost in a blue-gray haze of Irish whiskey and cigar smoke, takes drastic action. He pens an anonymous, threatening note, hoping -- as only one lost in an alcohol-soaked fantasy can hope -- to then step in as "Ace Private Big Dick" Friedman, and save the day, thus earning the undying gratitude of Ms. Winnie. Besides, just as Sherlock Holmes had his Watson, the Kinkster needs a suitable sidekick, and what better test? He calls on each of his Village Irregulars to solve the case: reporter Mike McGovern; Dylan look-alike Ratso Sloman; investigator Steve Rambam; and his own lady love, the delicious Stephanie Dupont. But things get dicey when the bogus death threat turns all too real, and suddenly Kinky and his Keystone crime fighters find themselves dancing -- none too daintily -- for their lives.

Dylan Weinberg, an eleven-year-old boy with a rare form of autism, is missing. A stock market wizard, he can only utter one word, 'Schnay'. Kinky takes the case but he faces a dilemma when Lucky, a cat from his aunt Nancy's Utopia Animal Ranch, also disappears. Kinky decides to put his faith in Village Irregular Steve Rambam, who was trained as both a cop and a rabbi, to help find the kid in New York. Meanwhile, Kinky hightails it to the ranch in Texas, where the only witnesses are a dim-sighted, eighty-year-old lady and a frisky canine named Mr Magoo. Luckily, it seems that Lucky stowed away in the back of Nancy's truck, got spooked by some wolves, and then somehow found his way home. As for Dylan, Kinky has a sinking feeling that Dylan's father, fed up with a mountain of medical bills, may have disposed of his sick son. In fact, Kinky finds him tucked away in a slightly less than Dickensian orphanage where he has been abandoned. It's a double happy ending, and even the great Kinkster is at a loss to explain it. The cat, of course, said nothing.
