Dieser vom interdisziplinären Designstudio MODU herausgegebener Reader erkundet den Raum zwischen dem Innen und dem Außen. Wie orientiert sich das Design von Innenräumen an einer urbanen Welt und andersherum? Wo lassen sich die Grenzen zwischen dem Privaten und dem Städtischen ziehen? Welche Rolle spielt hierbei die Umwelt? Phu Hoang und Rachely Rotem betrachten für ihre Recherche und Designprojekte drei Großstädte auf unterschiedlichen Kontinenten: New York, Rom und Tokio. MODU lässt dabei die binäre Idee von Innen und Außen hinter sich und begreift Architektur vielmehr als Erweiterung der Umwelt. Somit imaginiert es ein Hybrid von urbanem Raum, Architektur und Innenraum. Im Buch werden die unterschiedlichen geografischen Orte untersucht und eigene Designprojekte vorgestellt.

The Assembly, at its twenty-sixth session (23 November to 2 December 2009), adopted by resolution A.1023(26) the Code for the Construction and Equipment of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, 2009 (2009 MODU Code), which had been developed following a thorough revision of the 1989 MODU Code adopted by resolution A.649(16). In adopting the 2009 MODU Code, the Assembly recalled in particular that, since the adoption of the 1989 MODU Code, the Organization had adopted a significant number of amendments to many of the regulations of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (SOLAS) referenced in the Code, and also that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) had adopted amendments to the Convention on International Civil Aviation which impacted on the provisions for helicopter facilities as contained in the Code. The 2009 MODU Code provides an international standard for MODUs of new construction which will facilitate their international movement and operation and ensure a level of safety for such units and for personnel on board, equivalent to that required by the 1974 SOLAS Convention and the Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention on Load Lines, 1966, for conventional ships engaged on international voyages. The 2009 MODU Code supersedes the 1989 MODU Code for mobile offshore drilling units, the keels of which are laid or which are at a similar stage of construction on or after 1 January 2012. For MODUs constructed before that date, the provisions of the 1989 MODU Code still apply.

Tupac Shakur: Uncategorized is a 200 page photo book of Tupac Shakur. It contains images and portraits of the artist taken from 1994 until the last shoot Chi Modu did with himnine months before he passed. Many of the images have never been published.

Annotation The stories of the Chinese great emperors reflect the ancient Chinese philosophy, ideology, their wisdom and their ways of administration. Liu Bang is an outstanding example. Rising from a peasant background to become Emperor, he founded the Han Dynasty which lasted for about four hundred years and essentially laid the foundations of China as we know it. Liu Bang (256 BC?195 BC), posthumously called Emperor Gaozu, was a low-ranking functionary in an obscure corner of the realm when he caught the wave of the great uprisings against the Qin Dynasty. First as leader of a local contingent and then as general of larger and larger armies, he eventually overthrew the despotic Qin emperor. Today, the Han are the majority ethnic identity in China. This is the story of the rise of Emperor Gaozu, his alliances and his rivalries, and the priceless partnership provided by his chief military strategist Zhang Liang, who planned victorious campaigns from a distance of 1000 miles; Xiao He, who stabilized the state, pacified the people, and assured the food supply to the army; and General Han Xin, who commanded the Han army in its conquest of the State of Wei, the State of Zhao, the State of Yan and the State of Qi and played a great role in the defeat of Xiang Yu.
