Midpoints add nuance, detail, and depth to your astrological interpretations. Yet some astrologers shy away from this valuable analysis, perhaps daunted by the sheer volume of measurements involved. Don McBroom offers an easy approach to midpoints for professionals and individuals. You'll learn how to single out the most significant midpoint pictures and interpret them. McBroom explores many focal points-including the Sun/Moon midpoint, which defines core values. Midpoint significance is illuminated in examples based on the birth charts of Walt Disney, Meryl Streep, Thomas Edison, Steven Spielberg, Janis Joplin, and many other historical and contemporary icons. By integrating these dynamic planetary relationships into your natal chart analysis, you'll uncover exciting characteristics that will enrich your overall interpretation.

A simple yet often overlooked astrological technique. The information that midpoints provide is astonishing; they can mirror what is going on in the world, in many cases providing the missing link that explains what is really happening when traditional astrology fails. Veteran astrologer and author Kathy Allan has crafted a new manual that will teach readers to hone their basic chart reading and predictive skills through working with midpoints, long considered a specialized topic in the field of astrology. Initially inspired by the astrology classic Working with Astrology by Charles Harvey and Mike Harding, Allan wanted to create a more user-friendly textbook. Exercises are included at the end of each chapter. After explaining what midpoints are and how to find them, Allan uses in-depth case studies that examine the lives and horoscopes of such cultural icons as Carl Jung, Evangeline Adams, and Stephen King, demonstrating midpoints in action. Allan shows us how to delineate transiting and solar arc midpoints as an aid to understanding events. Adding midpoints to ingress, eclipse, and return charts adds detailed information that enables us to more accurately anticipate coming events. Readers will learn all about occupied and unoccupied midpoints, planetary axes, the 360 and 90 degree dials, plus how to contemplate and forecast future trends. At last, here is a systematic and engaging approach to - working with midpoints. The perfect companion volume to Allan's acclaimed book on the Lunar Nodes.

Since the 1st edition of this book was published in 1991, it has been a widely used reference book for many astrologers and their students who have recognized the value and importance in horoscope interpretation of the midpoints--the halfway point between any two planets or a planet and a highly significant point such as Midheaven, Ascendant or the north or south Node of the Moon. The format of this edition is very similar to the first edition, but you will find that the author has updated the interpretive text, so do read it carefully...and if you have not used midpoints routinely before, you will soon realize how significant they can be in chart interpretation! Following are a few comments from well-known astrologers familiar with the first edition and midpoint techniques.

This volume is the third volume of papers originating from the European Mathematical Psychology Group. Earlier volumes were: E. Degreef & J. van Buggenhaut (Eds.), Trends In Mathematical Psychology, Amsterdam, North-Holland Publ. Cy., 1984, and E.E. Roskam & R. Suck (Eds.), Progress in Mathematical Psychology, Amsterdam: Elsevier Science Publ. As the title indicates, this volume presents work in progress, which was reported in one of the recent annual meetings of the European Mathematical Psychology Group. The Group finds it worthwhile to disseminate this work, using a review process which is somewhat less strict, and a publication lag which is shorter, than would be the case for standard international journals. The editor is happy that the meetings of the European Mathematical Psychology Group are regularly attended by colleagues from overseas. Their contributions also appear in this volume, as was the case in earlier volumes. Despite apparent heterogeneity, the reader will observe that European mathemati cal psychologists have a keen interest in basic issues of mathematical modeling and measurement theory, and that also substantive topics, such as decision making, per ception, and performance are studied in the context of formal modeling. Also, and per haps of more than casual importance for future developments, is the fact that theory, experiment, and data analysis go closely together. It should therefore not surprise that psychometric topics, and topics in scaling are represented in this volume, alongside with topics of a more 'purely' mathematical nature.
