Violence, sex, lies, drugs, kidnapping, murder and deception are but a few of the many obstacles that these two teens must deal with before reaching the goal of finding out what is going on. What they find is so shocking that nearly every second in this period of their lives ticks by with mystery. Each character in this novel is unique with a role to play in the intricate web of child abuse and relationships. Norwegian: An Essential Grammar is a reference guide to the most important aspects of contemporary Norwegian as used by native speakers. Frederik Theodor Visser's An Historical Syntax of the English Language, published in four massive volumes between 1963 and 1973, is certainly one of the cornerstones of research in English linguistics. Visser's achievements can hardly be overestimated. Before the advent of modern corpus linguistics, he compiled a remarkable wealth of detailed philological data from all periods of English and combined this with current grammatical analyses of his time. This has made this publications an indispensable resource for anyone investigating the history of English syntax. This reproduction of Visser's volumes is more than welcome, and timely, as the volumes have been out of print for quite some time and were sometimes a little bit difficult to navigate. Having a searchable and easy-to- use online version, although maybe not perfect, available now means a revival for scholarship that celebrates its fiftieth birthday without losing any of its relevance.

Beginning Japanese (Parts I and II) contains thirty-five lessons, all of which have the same basic pattern and involve the same procedures. Each lesson requires many hours of class work supplemented by outside study and, if possible, laboratory work. The second part of this series contains lessons 21-35. This textbook is concerned only with spoken Japanese. Reading and writing involve a different set of habits and are best begun after acquiring some basic control of the spoken language. It is suggested that students interested in studying written Japanese begin using an introductory reading text only after completing at least ten or fifteen lessons of this volume.
