In a city full of giants, can one tiny girl find her way home? She is a girl three inches tall with eyes like drops of dew. Her clothes are cut from handkerchiefs and stitched with spider silk. For half her life, she has been suspended in a birdcage while Gulliver, her giant kidnapper, sits below her, writing in a leather-bound book the size of a house. Her name is Lily, and tonight she is planning her 35th escape attempt. She is going to find a way to get home. To Lilliput. Inspired by Gulliver's Travels, Lilliput is an exhilarating and imaginative adventure filled with cunning escape plans, evil clock makers, and talkative parrots. Join Lily as she travels through eighteenth-century London—over rooftops, down chimneys, and into chocolate shops—on a journey to find the one place in the world where she belongs...home.

This simple retelling of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels focuses on the first voyage—Gulliver's time on the island of Lilliput. It is a great way to introduce newly independent readers to this classic adventure. Gulliver loves the life he's leading. As a doctor on a ship he travels to some very interesting places. But life at sea can be dangerous, too. Gulliver's ship is destroyed in a storm, and it takes every bit of his strength to swim to shore, where he falls asleep all alone. But he is not alone for long! Gulliver awakens to find himself being held captive on an island called Lilliput by people who are only six inches tall! Although they don't trust him at first, soon enough the Lilliputians see how handy it can be to have Gulliver around—at least some of the time. And Gulliver adds another exotic, exciting, and very funny adventure to his life experiences!

Noncovalent interactions are the bridge between ideal gas abstraction and the real world. For a long time, they were covered by two terms: van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonding. Both experimental and quantum chemical studies have contributed to our understanding of the nature of these interactions. In the last decade, great progress has been made in identifying, quantifying, and visualizing noncovalent interactions. New types of interactions have been classified—their energetic and spatial properties have been tabulated. In the past, most studies were limited to analyzing the single strongest interaction in the molecular system under consideration, which is responsible for the most important structural properties of the system. Despite this limitation, such an approach often results in satisfactory approximations of experimental data. However, this requires knowledge of the structure of the molecular system and the absence of other competing interactions. The current challenge is to go beyond this limitation. This Special Issue collects ideas on how to study the interplay of noncovalent interactions in complex molecular systems including the effects of cooperation and anti-cooperation, solvation, reaction field, steric hindrance, intermolecular dynamics, and other weak but numerous impacts on molecular conformation, chemical reactivity, and condensed matter structure.
