The hilarious true story of the making of the cult classic hit show 30 Rock It’s hard to remember a time when Tina Fey wasn’t a star, but back in the early 2000s, she was an SNL writer who was far from a household name. It’s even harder to remember when Fey’s sitcom 30 Rock was tanking, but it was—it premiered in the fall of 2006, and by November, the New York Times wrote that 30 Rock was “perilously close to a flop.” But despite all expectations (including those of some of the cast and crew), Tina Fey’s eccentric buddy comedy lasted 138 episodes, spanning seven seasons. It resurrected the career of Alec Baldwin, survived an extended absence by Tracy Morgan, and permeated the culture— its breakneck pacing, oddball characters, and extremely rich joke writing are deeply beloved by millions of fans. Through more than fifty original interviews with cast, crew, critics, and more, culture writer Mike Roe brings to life the history of the gloriously goofy show that became an all-time classic. The 30 Rock Book has everything in it, from tales of the amazing music still stuck in our heads, to the iconic bit characters that make the show, to all the love and drama of the backstage crew . . . and the creative failures and successes along the way. So grab your night cheese and muffin tops, cuddle up with your slanket against your Japanese body pillow, and settle in for the story of one of the funniest shows in television history.

But after Harry’s death, McGrory's life as a bachelor takes quite the turn. A solitary artisan. A legacy of bread-baking. And one secret that could collapse her entire identity. Liesl McNamara’s life can be described in one word: bread. From her earliest memory, her mother and grandmother passed down the mystery of baking and the importance of this deceptively simple food. And now, as the owner of Wild Rise bake house, Liesl spends every day up to her elbows in dough, nourishing and perfecting her craft. But the simple life she has cultivated is becoming quite complicated. Her head baker brings his troubled grandson into the bakeshop as an apprentice. Her waitress submits Liesl’s recipes to a popular cable cooking show. And the man who delivers her flour—a single father with strange culinary habits—seems determined to win Liesl’s affection. When Wild Rise is featured on television, her quiet existence appears a thing of the past. And then a phone call from a woman claiming to be her half-sister forces Liesl to confront long-hidden secrets in her family’s past. With her precious heritage crumbling around her, the baker must make a choice: allow herself to be buried in detachment and remorse, or take a leap of faith into a new life. Filled with both spiritual and literal nourishment, Stones for Bread provides a feast for the senses from award-winning author Christa Parrish. "A quietly beautiful tale about learning how to accept the past and how to let go of the parts that tie you down." —RT Book Reviews, 4.5 stars, TOP PICK!

Raoul I have an issue that comes in a tidy, neat, little package - my neighbor. She's driven me out of my mind every day since she moved in a year ago. To make matters even worse, she's my friend's sister, Rose Beauregard. To add salt to the wound, she's a nurse and the sister of a tattoo artist, and I have a huge phobia of needles. I think it would be ok if she'd just stop giving me her special smile every morning, stop being cute, stop giving me that sass which drives me out of my mind. I'm totally lying - she could wear a paper bag over her head and I'd still want her. The problem is, when I say opposites, I mean opposites in everything - including the fact that I'm me, the most normal guy out and she's classy AF. I'm not sure that'll stop me, though. Rose Grumpy Raoul Evans, how I do love to mess with him. Smiling and waving at that glare he gives me every morning, the flowers I plant in front of his house, the packages of needles that accidentally fall out of the pocket of my scrubs onto the floor in front of him. It's all just so much fun. It used to hurt me when he glared at me, but then I decided to enjoy it and just seize the day, so I do that everyday. I'm sure at some point I'll push him too far, but today is not that day. Maybe tomorrow? He says I'm classy, I say he's grumpy, and the rest of the world says opposites attract. I know that I'm attracted to him, but until he starts feeling the same way toward me - or I make his head explode - I'm just going to enjoy pushing his buttons.
