It describes the problems and prospects of Jharkhand Film Industry, basically called as Jollywood. This is the first research work on Jharkhand Film Industry. It basically emphasizes on Nagpuri and Santhali Culture. The basic aim of my research was to enmark the hidden talents of Jharkhand actors, their revenue generation and employment opportunities.

'Improving Maternal Health in India’, an Oxfam–DFID project, was implemented in 420 villages across 6 States from 2012. It sought to improve maternal health status by building the capacity of communities to demand, access and monitor public health services. This document reviews the programme in Jharkhand where the CSO CINI is using an integrated approach to improve nutrition and maternal health.

India is home to hundreds of tribal communities, each with their own unique cultures, traditions and ways of life. Among these are the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), who are identified as being at risk of losing their distinct identities, livelihoods and traditional practices. This book takes an in-depth look at the PVTGs residing in the state of Jharkhand through the analytical lens of anthropology. It consists of untold stories on its indigenous people as a tribute to their reliance, wisdom and unwavering Spirit. Through a chronological exploration, the book aims to understand the pivotal role played in shaping regional identity with political historicity, livelihood practices, indigenous knowledge, dynamic interest with local life and to investigate the indigenous’ contribution. The authors evaluate current policies related to the preservation and empowerment of PVTGs. The book highlights the urgent need to protect and uplift these ancient but vulnerable communities before their irreplaceable cultures are lost forever.

This handbook explores the diversity of religious practice in tribal cultures in India. It looks at the interactive spaces where the religious practices of tribes and other communities have changed and adapted through the years in contemporary India. Tribe as a social category emerged in India during the colonial period; this handbook departs from the conventional approaches to studying ‘tribal religion’ and analyses the intersections of spirituality, rituals, gender and identities within tribal religion through a crosscultural and pan-Indian perspective. Tribes in India follow various religious denominations including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and traditional indigenous faiths. The chapters in this volume provide insights into the cross-cultural religiosity of tribes via ethnographic accounts and the study of animism, life cycle rituals, ancestor worship, shrines and religious institutions, revivalism, religious identities, religious conversion, transcendental religious spaces and the space for gender, identity and politics within religious traditions.
