Information Processing In Medical Imaging

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 27th International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2021, which was held online during June 28-30, 2021. The conference was originally planned to take place in Bornholm, Denmark, but changed to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 59 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 200 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: registration; causal models and interpretability; generative modelling; shape; brain connectivity; representation learning; segmentation; sequential modelling; learning with few or low quality labels; uncertainty quantification and generative modelling; and deep learning.

This book constitutes the refeered proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2005, held in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, in July 2005. The 63 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 245 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on shape and population modeling, diffusion tensor imaging and functional magnetic resonance, segmentation and filtering, small animal imaging, surfaces and segmentation, applications, image registration, registration and segmentation.

This book constitutes the refeered proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2009, held in Williamsburg, VA, USA, in July 2009 The 26 revised full papers and 33 revised poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 150 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on diffusion imaging, PET imaging, image registration, functional networks, space curves, tractography, microscopy, exploratory analyses, features and detection, image guided surgery, shape analysis, motion, and segmentation and validation.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 26th International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2019, held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, China, in June 2019. The 69 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 229 submissions. They were organized in topical sections on deep learning and segmentation; classification and inference; reconstruction; disease modeling; shape, registration; learning motion; functional imaging; and white matter imaging. The book also includes a number of post papers.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2017, held at the Appalachian State University, Boon, NC, USA, in June 2017. The 53 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 147 submissions. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 22nd International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2011, held at Kloster Irsee, Germany, in July 2011. The 24 full papers and 39 poster papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 224 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on segmentation, statistical methods, shape analysis, registration, diffusion imaging, disease progression modeling, and computer aided diagnosis. The poster sessions deal with segmentation, shape analysis, statistical methods, image reconstruction, microscopic image analysis, computer aided diagnosis, diffusion imaging, functional brain analysis, registration and other related topics.

This book summarizes the proceedings of the 10th international conference on Infonnation Pro cessing in Medical Imaging (IPMI-lO), held in June, 1987, in Zeist, The Netherlands. IPMI is a biennial conference, organized alternately in Europe and North America. The subject of the conference is the use of physics, mathematics, computer science, and engineering in the of medical images. The intent of the conference is to fonnation, processing and interpretation provide a forum where new ideas and results of research in medical imaging can be presented and amply discussed. Accordingly, the programme can comprise only a limited number of papers. The scientific committee of IPMI-lO selected 41 papers for presentation, although a total of 102 extended abstracts of on the average high quality had been submitted. All selected contri butions are included in these proceedings. During of the preparations of the conference the organizers received the tragic news of the death of Francois Erbsmann, the initiator of IPMI, and organizer of the first conference in 1969 in Brussels. Francois always emphasized that the backbone of the IPMI meetings should be promising young and active researchers rather than established scientists in the field. As an appreciation of this idea, and in thankful remembrance of Francois' stimulating work, the IPMI-board has taken the initiative to present the Francois Erbsmann prize for the most significant contribution to the conference by a young investigator.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2013, held in Asilomar in June/July 2013. The 26 full papers and 38 poster papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 199 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on connectivity, groupwise registration, neuro segmentation, statistical analysis, dynamic imaging, cortical surface registration, diffusion MRI, functional imaging, torso image analysis, and tract analysis.

This volume contains the papers presented at the 14th International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging. IPMI meetings have a a strong emphasis on the clinical relevance and validation of medical imaging. This book covers the whole spectrum: acquisition, tomographic reconstruction, registration, segmentation, knowledge-based analysis, display and image quality as well as several important applications. Several papers present significant advances in topics already discussed at previous meetings while others deal with new topics and methodology, opening new horizons in medical imaging. The book is divided into topical sections on shape models and matching, novel imaging methods, segmentation, image quality and statistical character of measured data, registration/mapping, statistical models in functional neuroimaging, and MR analysis and processing.
