Download Radiology of Parasitic Diseases Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This book primarily summarizes the imaging characteristics and theory of parasitic disease, offering a clinical guide and practical approach to understanding, preventing and diagnosing parasitic disease. Through imaging diagnosis and cross-research of imaging with autopsy and pathology, it highlights the chief characteristics and evolution of imaging, which provides primary scientific data for the understanding and research of parasitic disease. Divided into 9 chapters, this volume is fully illustrated with DR, CT and MRI images of different kinds of parasitic diseases, providing a valuable resource for radiologists in this field.

Download The Imaging of Tropical Diseases Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
A comprehensive, and profusely illustrated description of the common and uncommon images which will be found in a wide range of tropical diseases, correlated with the clinical and laboratory findings, and the epidemiology and pathology. Each chapter is an in-depth study with many images at all stages of the infections. Volume 1 includes amebiasis, schistosomiasis, hydatid disease, Chagas' disease, tuberculosis, the mycoses, taeniasis (tapeworms) and cystircercosis, and also AIDS as seen in the tropics. This is a unique book which will be of immense value, not only to all those in the practice of tropical medicine, but also to help recognition and understanding of the unusual illnesses which may be seen in travellers and immigrants.

Download Imaging of CNS Infections and Neuroimmunology Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This book summarizes the imaging characteristics and theory of CNS infections, serving as a clinical guidance and having a practical significance for the understanding, prevention and diagnosis of infectious neurology. It includes extensive CT, MRI images on gross anatomy, pathological tissue, immunohistochemistry, electronic speculum, etc. It is divided into 19 chapters according to infectious types. On the basis of imaging diagnosis, through the cross research of imaging with autopsy and pathology, the imaging characteristics and evolution was revealed. This book will be a valuable reference on the clinical practice and research of neuroinfections.

Download Neuroparasitology and Tropical Neurology Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Parasitic infections of the central nervous system (CNS) have increased over the last couple of decades, partly due to a drop in the living conditions of large populations in the world and the AIDS epidemic. Parasitic infections of the CNS are indolent and often life threatening, hence, an early diagnosis is imperative. While brain biopsy and laboratory analysis remain the gold standard for diagnosis, neuroimaging contributes significantly to diagnosis and follow-up. Imaging can demonstrate the extent of infection and complications and possibly, the type of parasitic infection when characteristic features are evident. The disappearance of the parasite or inflammation, gliosis, and/or calcification suggest a therapeutic response. The initial experience of the CT scan has been greatly enhanced by MRI which is currently the imaging modality of choice. This has been due to the greater tissue contrast resolution of MRI and its ability to detect subtle changes in the tissue parenchyma. Advanced techniques such as diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), perfusion imaging (PI), MR angiography (MRA), and MR spectroscopy (MRS) have been used to improve the sensitivity for characterizing the type, viability, and burden of the parasites and the host tissue response. Additionally, it is possible to demonstrate the complications of the primary infection and those secondary to treatment, in some cases.

Download Inflammatory Diseases of the Brain Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This second, updated edition of Inflammatory Diseases of the Brain provides a comprehensive overview of the field from a neuroradiological point of view. In order to ensure a standardized approach throughout, each disease-oriented chapter is again subdivided into three principal sections: epidemiology, clinical presentation, and therapy; imaging; and differential diagnosis. A separate chapter addresses technical and methodological issues and imaging protocols. An important focus of the book is the current role of advanced MR imaging techniques, such as diffusion and perfusion MRI and MR spectroscopy, in the differentiation of inflammatory and other brain diseases. All of the authors are recognized experts, and the numerous high-quality and informative illustrations include some not contained in the first edition. This book will be of great value not only to neuroradiologists but also to neurologists, neuropediatricians, and general radiologists.

This second volume describes a further wide variety of parasitic infections and other diseases, including benign and malignant tumors. Some are widespread, others re- stricted to specific geographical or climatic regions; almost all affect countless patients, some with generalized illnesses, others with limited involvement which may nonetheless be serious for the individual. The book contains numerous images at the important stages of the diseases, with photographs and histopathological sections to help understand the clinical progress, and often the response to treatment. These two volumes will be of great value to all who care for patients with tropical diseases, clinicians as well as radiologists.
