When you're looking for a little escape to the rugged mountain landscape that's as beautiful as it is wild, unwind at The Springs With the Springs resort set to open in mere weeks, Trent Harrison needs to stay focused and see to every detail. The last thing he needs is a complication, even one that comes in the form of sexy bar owner, Samantha Burke. Samantha loves her quiet close-knit community of Cedar Springs, just the way it is. The addition of a fancy new resort as well as its arrogant owner, and the change they're both sure to bring, is certainly not welcome. With Trent pushing his way into her town, and her life, Samantha's resistance to him wavers in the face of the passion and heat they share. Change is inevitable, but can either of them drop their guard long enough to accept it when there's so much on the line? The last thing Officer Rhys Anderson expected to encounter at the end of his quiet Sunday afternoon shift was a beautiful woman stranded by the side of the road in his hometown of Cedar Springs. After that one chance meeting, and despite the fact that Rhys knows there's something Kari's hiding, he can't keep his mind off her. All Kari Fox wanted to do was run as far away from her life, and her controlling ex-husband, as possible. She never planned to end up stuck in a small mountain town, and she definitely never expected to fall for the handsome police officer who helped her. With a good job at the Springs resort, good friends and a steamy new relationship, things are finally beginning to go right, and Kari might even be starting to believe that she has a future in Cedar Springs. But Kari has secrets. Secrets that threaten to destroy everything she's trying to create, including her relationship with Rhys. As the truth comes to light, will their connection be strong enough to withstand the truth of her past? When Kylie Wilson receives a mysterious invitation for an all expenses paid trip to a tropical, all inclusive resort, there's no doubt in her mind who it came from--Marcus Stone, the only man she thought she loved. The same man who'd promised her forever and then promptly left town to pursue his dream without so much as a backward glance. Kylie owes it to herself to take a chance, and despite her conflicted feelings, she decides to risk her heart again and is soon jetting toward the island of Eden and the man she hopes will finally fill the void in her life. But when she arrives, and it's not Marcus at all, but his much sexier twin brother, Malcolm, Kylie's more confused then ever. But on an island that is supposed to 'know exactly what you need', can Kylie open her body, mind, and more importantly--her heart to the idea that sometimes you have to take Second Glances?

Aint nothing like being married to an elderly man. Written for single and married women. Mental and physical abused women. Women of all races and background. It is a resource for knowledge of the Do and Donts of a relationship and or marriage. Used as a reference book, it offers my readers facts and information. This book is a hard core, no hold barred. Although this womens book can be enjoyed by anyone, including single and married men, it was specifically written for adult woman that seeks a relationship with elderly men. As you probably know, more than 50 million women in and out of the United States have dealt with a marriage for all the wrong reasons. These women too often accept the abuse simply because of a lack of knowledge. Having low self-esteem, women fail to realize they are Queens. Women deserve to be respected. Although other books, such as, Women Beatings through the Eyes of the Abuser, have tried to provide information, the book usually lack a womans point of view. (What abuse woman really wants to get information from the abuser himself?) And none of the books uses the hard core approach an approach that has revolutionized the way I see women as part of my own family.

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal Bestselling author, Laramie Briscoe, comes the special edition of a fan favorite series. Nobody writes blue collar romance like Laramie Briscoe, and nowhere is it more apparent than in the Moonshine Task Force: Special Edition Series. This edition includes a never-before-released short story, as well as all the slices of life scenes and text messages I've written for this couple. Ace is saving lives and mending hearts... Anthony “Ace” Bailey I’m not a rules kinda guy Department Policy? Kinda sucks, but I do what I have to for the job that I love. Playing it safe? Not my thing. Married? No big deal when I know she’s unhappy and scared. I’m one of those guys – a sniper in the military, a little bit of an adrenaline junkie, and a member of the Moonshine Task Force. I’ve lived through some shit. My gut has never failed me. It’s my sixth-sense. Warning me of a gunshot coming my way, of a traffic stop being potentially deadly, or the tingling in the back of my neck when I go to sleep telling me I’ll be woken up by a call in the middle of the night. My gut has always kept me honest. Like the day I walked into The Café and saw the new waitress. There was a ring on her left hand, but I didn’t care. One look in her eyes told me everything I needed to know. Her marriage wasn’t one made of love and respect. It was one made of fear and doubt. It’s why I ignored that ring, why I arrested her husband, and the reason I’m willing to take my time. Patience is a virtue, and with this woman, I have it in spades. Violet Miller Meeting Anthony Bailey changed my life. He did things that no one else has ever done for me. Feeling safe? Never happened before. Feeling wanted? It’s been years. Being independent? I’m learning. It’s foreign, not having someone question my every move, being able to eat what I want for dinner, and sitting out on my front porch talking to Anthony every night while we share a couple beers. I try to tell myself he’s just being nice; that he’s doing his job and working within the community. The problem? The night he takes the kiss we both want, everything changes, and I can no longer deny what I feel. But it doesn’t stop me from trying – and I learn quickly that Ace knows me better than anyone else ever has – including myself. All I can do is hang on, as he takes me on the scariest journey of my life. The one that bends us until we almost break, and ends with a happily ever after I never thought I would get. ACE includes the wedding of a beloved couple, an appearance by Reaper, and the continuation of EVERYONE falling in love with Caleb!

As the essays in this book attest, in a time of specialization John McCormick chose diversification, a choice determined by a life spent in many occupations and many countries. After his five years in the U. S. Navy in the Second World War, the academy beckoned by way of the G. I. Bill, graduate training, and a career in teaching. Prosperity in the American university at the time meant setting up as a "Wordsworth man," a "Keats man," or a "Dr. Johnson man": all chilling to the author. He chose self-exile in which he disguised himself as an "Americanist" saleable in Europe, and lectured happily in comparative studies: literature, history, and philosophy. Thus the broad range of this volume, both in subject matter and in the span of time it covers. The essays are divided into three sections. First are general and personal essays on a variety of topics, followed by work on individual writers, and third, writings on criticism and theory. A section on Santayana reflects his eight years of research for Santayana's biography. The writings on Spain and toreo (bullfighting) result from another long-held interest, together with the author's attempt to alter some of the romantic nonsense about the running of the bulls in Pamplona, too often the entire substance of what the general public knows about Spain. McCormick has long been convinced that without knowledge of bullfighting, the foreigner cannot comprehend arcane and wonderful aspects of the Spanish character. The coda, "Another Music," is an old man's attempt to solve the mysterious algebra of how the world turns now, and how the young appear to the aged. While the volume is diverse in its range of writers--from Whitman in America to Santayana in Europe, taken as a collectivity, these essays provide a sense of the grandeur as well as the decadent in twentieth century politics and aesthetics alike. Written with the literary taste and political non-conformity that still characterizes McCormick, the volume is a treat for the specialist (perhaps) and for the generalist (certainly).
