We take great pleasure in presenting the proceedings of the fifth edition of the International Conference on Applied Economics and Social Science (ICAESS), 2023, held on the 7th of November 2023 in Batam. The conference envisions a future where economic prosperity and environmental well-being are harmonized. By fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, it aims to unite environmental experts, technologists, and policymakers in crafting holistic solutions. The theme of ICAESS 2023 was “Harmonizing Green Economy, Sustainable Development, and Digitalization for a Thriving Future”. The technical program for ICAESS 2023 comprised 37 full papers, boasting an acceptance rate of 45%. The conference tracks included: Track 1-Economics; Track 2-Accounting; Track 3- Managements; and Track 4-Social Sciences. In conjunction with the outstanding technical paper presentations, the technical program featured two keynote speeches, one direct invited talk, and one online invited talk presentation. The distinguished speakers for the keynote speeches were TS Dr. Nurulizwa Binti Abdul Rashid from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Malaysia, and Dr. Mehran Nejati from Edith Cowan University, Australia Effective coordination with the steering committee played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the conference. We express our sincere appreciation for their unwavering support and guidance throughout the entire process. Special acknowledgment goes to the ICAESS Chair Committee for their diligent efforts in completing the peer-review process of technical papers, resulting in the development of a high-quality technical program. Additionally, our gratitude extends to the Conference Managers for their invaluable support and to all the authors who submitted their papers to the ICAESS 2023 conference. We also want to thank the staff of EAI for their help in making this publication possible.

This is an open access book. ISEMSS 2023 was held on July 14–16, 2023 in Kunming, China. And provide a platform for scholars in related fields to exchange ideas and: Develop and advance social development through the study and application of certain social issues. Open up new perspectives and broaden the horizons of looking at issues in the discussions of the participants. Create a forum for sharing, research, and exchange on an international level, allowing participants to learn about the latest research directions, results, and content in different fields thus stimulating them to new research ideas. This volume contains a collection of papers presented at The 4th International Conference on Applied Economics and Social Science (ICAESS) 2022, which was held on 5th October 2022, In Batam, Indonesia online. Batam is the city of Politeknik Negeri Batam, which organized ICAESS. This conference’s aim is to showcase research applications conducted by researchers. The research gap between academics and industries had become a significant challenge which is expected to be addressed during the conference. Our theme is "Responding the Era of Metaverse for Future Applied Technology". We have keynote speakers that delivering talks for the digital marketplace: Dr Hj Mohammad Nabil Almunawar, metaverse for education: Prof. Yusep Rosmanyah, S.T., M.Sc, PhD, and industry 4.0: Ashwani Singh, PhD. We are indebted to them, we hope their research continues successfully. ICAESS has 4 tracks including Economics Track, Accountings Track, Managements Track, and Social Sciences Track. We received 112 papers addressing topics in line from the tracks, including Economic Development, Accounting Theory, Business Administration, Development Studies and other related fields. We accepted 50 articles, with an acceptance rate of 45%. Special thanks to the Organizing Committee members along with the numerous reviewers for their assistance with the reviews of the submitted manuscripts. Finally, we sincerely express gratitude to all the participants, and the authors for all their work, thus making this conference a success. Modern educational technology refers to the theory and practice of using modern educational theory and modern information technology to achieve teaching optimization through the design, development, utilization, management and evaluation of teaching and learning processes and resources. Education and social science are the relationship between restriction and promotion. Theoretically and practically, the study of social phenomena and social problems and the development of prosperous social sciences are the eternal themes of human beings. At present, social science research and its results can hardly meet the needs of social development, especially the unscientific evaluation of social science results, which has aroused great concern from all walks of life, and has produced dirt and questions on social science, thus affecting the proper development of social science. Max Weber once said that "the most important function of social science in modern times is to keep people "clear-headed" and to resist the delusions of "prophetic legislators". " Humanities and arts are the process of perceiving, realizing, thinking, manipulating, and expressing objective or subjective objects through capturing and excavating, feeling and analyzing, integrating and applying, or displaying the stage results in the form obtained through feeling (seeing, hearing, smelling, touching). The social sciences and humanities and arts contain content that will directly affect our lives and the way society functions. And by reacting to today's increasingly intricate problems and situations through systematic and professional discussions, they will further contribute to the improvement of institutions and the development of society. By thinking about issues and looking at problems and the world from different perspectives by putting the two together, it may be possible to have more comprehensive, appropriate, and better responses; for example, the development of laws requires a deeper understanding of the environment in which they are implemented; international trade requires a certain understanding of the customs of different countries; and the development of tax and economic policies requires a certain understanding of the population, consumer demand, etc.

This book comprises state-of-the-art research results in the field of mechatronics and other closely related areas and that will be presented on occasion of the third “International Conference of Reliable Systems Engineering (ICoRSE 2023)” that will take place in Bucharest, Romania, between 07–08 September 2023. The first two ICoRSE editions brought together professors, Ph.D. students, and researchers in Europe, North America, and Asia, in countries such as: England, Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
