The monograph is devoted to the notion of strategic intervention and its application in the foreign language classroom, in particular with reference to teaching grammar structures. The first four chapters, which are theoretical in nature, address such concepts as form-focused instruction, language learning strategies and strategies-based instruction. The last chapter provides insight into the results of a study investigating the grammar learning strategies employed by advanced learners of English. Additionally, the chapter presents the views of foreign language teachers on the idea of introducing strategy training in the foreign language classroom. Resumen: Este escrito da una idea general de algunas estrategias de enseñanza y aprendizaje como el manejo del aula, educación bilingüe y aspectos importantes sobre la forma de implementar la pronunciación, la competencia intercultural, estrategias de aprendizaje, y cómo corregir los errores en el proceso de aprendizaje de idiomas; aspectos que algunos profesores de idiomas han pasado por alto en las clases de lengua extranjera; estas estrategias se han propuesto y explicado brevemente con el fin de proporcionar no sólo al maestro sino también al alumno una idea de cómo aplicar y mejorar el uso de estas estrategias en el aprendizaje de idiomas. Al final de cada capítulo hay una serie de actividades que se proponen como una sugerencia o ejemplo de cómo poner en práctica cada una de las estrategias mencionadas anteriormente.
