In the night skies above Paris, an adorable young owl teaches her older brother about the power of imagination—and the unconditional love between siblings Hoot the owl is very excited for his little sister, Peep, to join him on the cathedral rooftops. She's finally old enough to learn all his big brother owly wisdom: First, owls say hooo. Second, they always say hooo. Lastly, they ONLY say hooo! But why would Peep say hooo when she could say schweeepty peep or dingity dong? Why would she speak when she could sing? As she explores the breathtaking Parisian cityscape, Peep discovers so many inspiring sights and sounds—the ring of cathedral bells, the slap of waves on stone—that she can’t help but be swept up in the magic of it all. Hoot doesn’t understand Peep’s awe, until he takes a pause to listen . . . and realizes that you're never too old to learn a little something new. From the beloved author/illustrator of the classic picture book Red Sled, this gorgeous read aloud celebrates the wonder found in little things—and in the hearts of dreamers, young and old.

Deep in the heart of Andalusia on the outskirts of the ancient towering walls of Arcos de la Frontera is a seemingly quiet town, which holds a chillingly malevolent secret. Once revealed it will challenge the very fabrics of what we consider reality to be. Born of the Dream, Fuko (short for Fukushima), a two-and-half-year-old Patterdale Terrier, holds the key to this mystery and upon him is thrust the responsibility of the Guardian, a role that plunges him into the thick of an adventure that spans the vastness of time and the dimensions of existence. Will Fuko be able to navigate the treacherous path of becoming the fully fledged Guardian, all while protecting his adopted dog family and facing an energy so entangled in the Dream that it threatens to envelop and enslave all of humanity, the animal domain, and all of existence with it? Told through rich allegory, Dawn of the Guardian offers readers a journey into the world of lucid dreaming through an adventurous, fun-filled, and often spine-chilling tale.

Owl Hoot Trail is a fantasy steampunk Western game (reviewed here and here) published by Pelgrane in 2013. Clinton R. Nixon wrote the core of the game that Matt Breen and I developed. Our aim wasnt to make a Western-flavored fantasy game that felt like D&D with spurs; it was to make a game just as deadly and cinematic as your favorite Clint Eastwood movie, except with giant steampunk monstrosities, gun-slinging Orcs, Dwarvish prospectors, and blandly smiling grifters who demolish you in a hand of poker while they chat secretly with each other in Elvish. If we ended up with female halfling marshals gunning down owlbear rustlers at high noon, we were hitting our design goals.

Thirteen-year-old Jay West is happy living in the city and doing as much of nothing as he can. His young life consists mostly of riding his bike, reading comic books, hanging out with his friends and occasionally working a part time job as a paper route substitute, what he hates. His mother, who is not impressed with Jay’s lifestyle, arranges for him to spend a summer with his two elderly great uncles “up north.” Resistant at first, Jay begrudgingly agrees to try it and see what it would be like. His Uncles’ place, named Hoot Owl Hollow, is located on Lake Muckawini and near the small town of Wakanda, Wisconsin. Initially very skeptical and unimpressed with some of the primitive facilities, Jay quickly meets a number of interesting characters, makes new friends and experiences a number of new and unique experiences in the great outdoors. Young Jay ends up spending two summers at Hoot Owl Hollow, having some fun and learning about nature, fishing and a little bit about life itself.
