The Board do not doubt that the time is not distant when, from the measures now in progress, the water furnished to the city will be quite free from all impurities, except occasionally the slight milkiness imparted to the lake water by storms, which is caused by the clay banks a long dis tance North of the city, and frequently extends many miles out from the shore.
