Excerpt from Fourth Annual Conference on Educational Measurements: Held at Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, 1917 Tiie fourth annual conference on educational measurements has still continued in part the lines of discussion inaugurated in the three previous conferences relative to the measurement of achievement in certain school subjects. This is particularly true in arithmetic and reading. The two studies on the measurement of arithmetical abilities in Indiana published in 1915 and 1916 by Dr. Melvin E. Haggerty have stimulated a third survey in arithmetic in which twenty-seven towns and cities participated, the complete results of which will soon go to press. A brief report of the study by Dean H.
