Prayer is one of the most interesting topics in the Bible and no wonder; it is also one of the most spoken and written about. Walk in any Christian bookstore and you will find an entire section dedicated to books on prayer. Go to any city and you are guaranteed to find more than enough prayer ministries. Churches even organize prayer conferences where there is a lot of valuable teaching from seasoned prayer warriors on the subject of prayer. It would appear we have lots of information on prayer but unfortunately, it's one of the least practised spiritual disciplines by the average Christian. Almost all Pentecostal churches I know have weekly prayer meetings which are either on a weekday evening or a Friday vigil. In most if not all of these cases, only a small percentage of the church members are usually in attendance. How come the most preached, most written about and most discussed topic in Christian circles is also the least practised? There are a couple of reasons that I could think of including laziness, comfort zones, thinking we are too busy to pray and lastly, ignorance. I have a feeling that ignorance is the biggest reason why we don't practice prayer as much as we should. If we really understood the beauty and power of prayer, we would all take prayer a lot more seriously. That is what this book is all about - unravelling the laws that govern prayer. See, everything under the sun is governed by a set of laws. Gravity doesn't care how fat or thin you are if you jump up you have to come down. It's a law of nature. The laws of prayer are what prayer is pegged on. When you understand and apply these laws, you will start experiencing great fruitfulness in prayer. Please remember one thing as you read through these laws of prayer ; the best way to learn to pray is not by reading or attending a seminar. The best way to learn how to pray is by praying. Learning to pray is good but praying is even better. I invite you to read this book prayerfully. Feel free to bookmark a page and pray whenever you feel led. If your prayer life doesn't change after you read this book, then my purpose for authoring it will not be fulfilled. But I have a great premonition of the spirit even as I write this book that it will transform you. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you through this inspired book. Amen!

...for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 Have you ever wondered why things keep on happening the way they do? Have you ever wondered why life seems to follow a pattern and certain things keep on reoccurring sort of in a circle? Have you ever wondered why certain people seem destined to fail while others seem destined to succeed? In Spiritual Laws: the Operating System of the Kingdom of God, author John Magezi provides key answers to these questions. God has set in place laws and principles that determine the way things happen in the world.

Prayer Is Our Response to God’s Invitation. So often we think of prayer as something we do to break through to God—to get His attention and to get Him to listen to us. But intimacy with God is His idea. He has taken the initiative, and prayer is His gift to us. It is an opportunity for us to respond to His invitation to intimacy by calling, crying, and singing to Him. Prayer is our response to the One who has called out to us and desires to be in a relationship with us. In Becoming a Woman of Prayer, Cynthia Heald will encourage you to respond to God’s invitation to deeper intimacy with Him.
