Excerpt from Farmers' Market Bulletin, Vol. 10: January, 1924 On account of dry weather, the first potatoes dug this season were rather small, but a rain in mid-season improved the quality and very little scab was found. The extreme hot weather during the last week in June caused considerable sun-scald, however, as the hot potatoes heated when packed and it was found advisable to dig potatoes in the evening, permit them to cool during the night, and pack early to next morning.
