You are not to suppose that one concentration on each new idea is enough. A great many acts of concentration are required, and it is found that several short concentrations are preferable to a single long one, because the intervening reflection-periods enable the mind to know better what details in the new ideas are worthy of special attention in connection with the subject in hand.
