EBRO is a radio personality on Hot 97 in New York and hosts the morning show. This sketch book is Ebro's list of the top 50 rappers of all time. I believe these lists started from a podcast and XXL re-tweeted it. A lot of people posted their top 50 rappers. Being a radio dj for Hot 97, one of America's baddest radio stations, what Ebro says carries weight.Who isn't a fan of rap? Nas, Jay Z, Tupac, and Notorious BIG are only a few rappers that have cemented their legacy with their music. Music that is timeless like LL Cool J's "I Need Love."Ebro, being an expert when it comes to the music and the artist's that perform it, is the go to person for this list of the top 50 rappers. He also was Program Director for Hot 97. I challenge other artists to draw Ebro's list.

The life that 50 Cent was born into was anything but easy. Rap is a genre of music that will almost always provoke some type of emotion. Our book is based off one of those emotions-- the ongoing debate about who are the greatest rappers of all time (G.O.A.T.). But instead of just throwing our personal opinions out there, we came up with a mathematical system that kept us as honest and objective as possible. Each artist was rated numerically based off ten criteria, and these numbers also included data from public album averages from two different sites. These total numbers put them in order-- not us. We started this project on August 12, 2012, and did not finish until September 30, 2013. So a lot of work, time, integrity, and attention were put into it. This book has been fun and at times chaotic, but it has given us a new appreciation for the genre. Please do not take this book too serious, but respect the work and effort put into it. Rapper Kool Mo Dee thrived during hip-hop's nascent years as a vocalist whose tongue-twisting rhymes and speedy delivery put his counterparts to shame. On his 1987 album, How Ya Like Me Now, Kool came up with a ‘hip-hop report card': a method of rating MCs (Emcees, Masters of Ceremonies, Master Communicators, or rap vocalists) as a way of separating the premier MCs from their often one-dimensional, overrated counterparts ("Sucka MCs"). Building on this original list, Kool has put together an extensive rating system to compile the definitive list of the greatest MCs of all time. Kool rates each MC based on seventeen different categories, ranging from the artist's lyricism, vocabulary, and freestyling ability to his longevity, body of work, and social impact. Each artist is given a numerical score from one to ten in each of the seventeen categories, as well as an explanation for how this rating was determined.
