Dynamic Perspectives Challenges On Youth Creativity

This edited volume provides a venue for scholars whose work challenges the typical, static conceptions, and methods of studying creativity. More specifically, the book will serve as an effort to introduce more dynamic definitions, conceptions, and approaches for studying creativity in the context of educational practice. By doing so, it feeds the strong contemporary need for more dynamic conceptions of creativity in educational settings. This is particularly important given the fast evolution of modern society and the widespread consensus that efforts to develop creative potential should be democratized -- extending well beyond the boundaries of the gifted subset and the walls of the classroom. This work recognizes that more dynamic perspectives on creativity are necessary for understanding its complexity, value, and meaning in educational contexts.

As a developing country, India stands at advantage than other countries in terms of youth Population. Youth is not only the backbone of a nation, but they also determine its future. Because young people are innovative, creative, passionate and skilled, they are instrumental in creating a meaningful change nationwide and globally. This enthusiasm, vibrancy and skills when channelled properly can promise us and our generation a secure and progressive future. It is both an asset and challenging on being a country with highest number of youth. With emerging advancement and development, multiple challenges continue to occur. This paper attempts to explore the social and psychological challenges and the causes behind them that the modern youth of our country faces. It is very important to address these issues and to work on ways to empower the younger generation since they shoulder a plethora of responsibilities.

This text contributes a perspective toward understanding and researching children's creativity. Theoretical and empirical studies distinguish adult and childhood creativity in the conceptual frameworks, research methods, and studies of identification, development and training of individuals.

Originally published as a special issue of the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, this volume explores how researchers, educators, artists, and scholars can collaborate with, and engage young people in art, creative practice, and research to work towards social justice and political engagement. By critically interrogating the dominant discourses, cultural, and structural obstacles that we all face today, this volume explores the potential of critical arts pedagogies and community-based research projects to empower young people as agents of social change. Chapters offer nuanced analyses of the limits of arts-based social justice collaborations, and grapple with key ethical, practical, and methodological issues that can arise in creative approaches to youth participatory action research. Theoretical contributions are enhanced by Notes from the Field, which highlight prime examples of arts-based youth work occurring across North America. As a whole, the volume powerfully advocates for collaborative creative practices that facilitate young people to build power, hope, agency, and skills through creative social engagement. It rests on the theoretical framework of analytic-functionalism to explain statics and dynamics in the production of life quality.
