This document is a technical appendix to the Puget Sound Dredged Disposal Analysis (PSDDA) Management Plan Report and Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Phase I study area (central Puget Sound). The appendix was prepared by the Disposal Site Work Group (DSWG), assigned the responsibility for identifying potential unconfined, open-water dredged material disposal sites. Part I of the Disposal Site Selection Technical Appendix contains introductory and conceptual information for the remaining parts of the document. This Technical Appendix describes existing conditions at theeight candidate sites with respect to surface water. A detaileddescription of the methods used for data collection and analysisis presented with a discussion of the study findings. Data mapsand data summaries for candidate sites are also included. Dataare presented for alternative access roads. The choicesavailable for drainage improvements at each site are alsodiscussed. Sections 1 and 2 are introductory, defining studyareas and describing data collection methods. Sections 3 to 10describe existing surface water conditions around the eightcandidate sites. The Appendix lists government agencies and sitegroups contacted during this phase, and a copy of the surfacewater section of a questionnaire used during the study (See alsoMicrolog 86-00666).
