Discovery Of The Neutrino Franklin Symposium Proceedings In Celebration Of The

The Franklin symposium reviews the state of experimental neutrino physics, particularly those areas in which the properties of neutrinos are the subject of current research. The primary topics of the symposium are: solar neutrinos, neutrino mass, double-beta decay, neutrino oscillations and supernova neutrinos.

Professor Freeman Dyson, a great physicist, thinker and futurist, has been very active in scientific, literary and public policy activities throughout his career. As a tribute to him on the occasion of his 90th birthday and to celebrate his lifelong contributions in physics, mathematics, astronomy, nuclear engineering and global warming, a conference covering a wide range of topics was held in Singapore from 26 to 29 August 2013. This volume gives an up-to-date, useful review of the recent results and new ideas concerning the following topics: precision tests of the standard model, search for Higgs bosons, CP violation, flavour physics, neutrino physics, testing extensions of the standard model, supersymmetry, particle physics, cosmology and new results in strong interactions.

This volume presents the experimental and theoretical methods of studying soft interaction physics in high energy collisions. The topics include: dynamical and Bose-Einstein correlations, multiplicity fluctuation, soft photons, disoriented chiral condensate, self-similarity and self-affine behaviors, wavelet analysis, intermittency, chaos, and phase transition.

The realization that precision LEP data lend support to the idea of supersymmetric grand unification and supersymmetry in general, led to the organization of the First HARC International Workshop on Recent Advances in the SuperWorld. The idea was to have a workshop that discussed all aspects of the supersymmetric world — the SuperWorld as it should be properly known. These aspects are so diverse that they are usually studied by high energy physicists with vastly different interests. The selection of speakers included the whole spectrum in 'energy', from experimental physicists, to specialists in low energy phenomenology, supersymmetric grand unification, supergravity, superstrings and supercosmology.

The Proceedings of the Workshop covers a broad range of subjects from low energy supersymmetry through supersymmetric grand unification to supergravity and superstring theories. Although the focus was mainly on theoretical problems and ideas, the present and future experimental searches of new particles were also discussed.

This volume reviews the recent progress of B physics, and discusses theoretical and experimental aspects of the physics which will be explored at the B factory. CP violation and new physics beyond the Standard Model are the main issues of the discussion.
