The trilingual English-French-German Dictionary of Glass-Making, published in 1983, was very successful and is an indispensable reference tool for everybody linked with the glass industry. The English-Spanish-Portuguese version is supplemented by terms peculiar to the Hispanoamerican and Brazilian glass industry. Das vorliegende Buch ist der Versuch einer Zusammen stellung der gebrauchlichsten Fachausdrucke aus der deutschen und anglo-amerikanischen Glasindustrie. Da diesen Industriezweig einerseits die Traditionsgebunden heit eines jahrtausendealten Handwerks, andererseits eine rasche Entwicklung und zunehmende Mechanisierung kenn zeichnet, habe ich versucht, sowohl die moderne Glastechnik, als auch die Fachsprache des Glasmachers zu Wort kommen zu lassen. Dabei ist mir von seiten der Geschaftsleitung der A.G. der Gerresheimer Glashuttenwerke, Dusseldorf-Gerresheim, und von zahlreichen Mitarbeitern.
