The student begins his work in practical anatomy by the dissection either of the upper or of the lower limb. During the first three days that the subject is in the dissecting-room it is placed in the lithotomy position for the dissection of the perineum by the workers on the abdomen. On the fourth day the student begins the dissection of the back or Of the buttock, according as to whether he has been allotted an upper or a lower limb.
