As My Heart Awakes

This is a true story about love at first sight, it happened to a middle aged couple who fell in love and became an inspirational partnership which lead to a loving marriage. In their small little exhibition stand and graphic design studio, working hard together, having normal ups and downs like all businesses go through. When down, together their love, comfort and being always together got them over these problems. On the ups, they enjoyed themselves in the fast lane, like a couple of young lovers, kissing cuddling and dancing the night away, never ever parted, their world was wonderful, such happiness, such togetherness, such love. But in November 2008 their whole world changed and became hell.

Richard Prince, a professor, had come to a dead end in his life. It was then he received a surprising invitation to speak at a conference in Bhutan, whose goal is "Gross National Happiness." Although he's skeptical, while trekking to the Tiger's Nest Monastery, the most revered of all Bhutan's spiritual sites, Richard falls and almost dies. During his recovery, he is visited by a Himalayan master who begins instructing him on the keys to personal and cultural transformation and how Bhutan and other countries can achieve the goal of "happiness" for their people and the world. H. G. Wells's dystopian novel 'The Sleeper Awakes' was first published as a book in the year 1899. It narrates the story of a man who wakes up after a very long continuous sleep of hundred and three years. What happens next to him and how the world has changed for him is told interestingly in this novel.

The Sleeper Awakes (1910) is a dystopian science fiction novel by H. G. Wells about a man who sleeps for two hundred and three years, waking up in a completely transformed London, where, because of compound interest on his bank accounts, he has become the richest man in the world. The main character awakes to see his dreams realised, and the future revealed to him in all its horrors and malformities.The novel is a rewritten version of When the Sleeper Wakes, a story by Wells that was serialised between 1898 and 1899.

The late Alice Kane was born in Ireland in 1908. Moving with her parents to Canada in 1921, she was educated in New Brunswick and at McGill University in Montreal before beginning a career with the Toronto Public Library, where she had a major interest in fairy tales. After her retirement in 1973, she taught Children’s Literature at the University of New Brunswick, then began a second career as a professional storyteller in association with the Storytellers School of Toronto. She was a featured performer at many storytelling events, including the American Storytelling Festival at Jonesborough, Tennessee. Her rich oral heritage is remembered in Songs and Sayings of and Ulster Childhood, edited by Edith Fowke (1983).
