Excerpt from An Outline of a Bible-School Curriculum That the Bible school has been an important factor in the moral and religious training of our children and young people is a fact freely admitted by the more discerning students of our national life. In spite of its neglect by professional educators, a neglect which is not easily accounted for, and the peculiarly difficult conditions under which it has had to do its work, much has been done for the formation of Christian character in the thousands who have come under its influence. That the work of the Bible school, judged from a teaching standpoint, has not been of a high character must be admitted even by its most ardent supporters; but that it has been one of the great moral influences in our land all must concede. Within the last few years there has been a deepening interest in the Bible school, and in other institutions and agencies for moral and religious training, which has finally resulted in the formation of the Religious Education Association, whose object is "to promote religious and moral education." From this association much is hoped for, and the time seems not far distant when the problems connected with moral and religious education shall be clearly defined, and many of them satisfactorily solved. The problem is to outline a basic four-year Bible curriculum for Calvary Christian High School, Roseville, Michigan. The content is to be both practical and relevant to high school students. Several units of study must also be included to offer a sample of the desired content and application. The basic objectives of this study are as follows: 1. To outline a four-year Bible curriculum for high school level classes; 2. To provide a course of study so that an instructor would not have to stray from the given lesson in order to make a practical application; 3. To correlate published material, newly-written items, and private sources of information into a unified, coherent curriculum which can easily be put to use ; 4. To provide a list of supplemental items such as hymns, choruses, and memory verses that will relate to, or enhance, the unit of study. - leaf 2.

Life is painful. Everyone's story comes with unique challenges, difficulties, bumps, and bruises that leave you lost and drowning in their wake. It could be a financial disaster, a health issue, a broken relationship, or the loss of a loved one. Dr. Tony Evans, bestselling author and pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, understands life's hardships firsthand. In a span of less than two years, he lost his brother, sister, brother-in-law, two nieces, father, and wife. At the same time, both of his daughters received cancer diagnoses. In the wake of all this pain, Dr. Evans had to put into practice, at the deepest levels, the truths he has preached about God for more than forty years. God's Word doesn't promise us a life free from pain and trouble. It promises us something else—Someone else. Someone who will walk with us through all of life's trials and troubles. There is hope for the hurting: His name is Jesus.
