A Procession Of Passion Prayers Marshalled By Eric Milner White

The purpose of this book is to attempt to pass through incidents of the Passion in a pilgrimage of prayer for private use. At the same time it preserves the austere structure of the Collect, so that this or that prayer may be available for the corporate or 'oratory' use.

This volume commemorated the 50th anniversary of the installation (1941) of Eric Milner-White as Dean of York. He undertook the restoration of the Minster glass after the War, added considerably to the furnishings and fabrics in the building, and promoted the development of the distinguished musical tradition of York. The improvement of the Minster Library was among his major contributions. His permanent influence on York was not confined to his work for the life and worship of the Minster, but extended to the Diocese and Province.
